Attention Raw Feeders ! |

Thanks for sharing. |
I don't feed raw-but I suggest those that do should start contacting their government reps. |
Surely, you jest.......So what are they going to do....go to everyones home and with search warrants and scour your kitchens and cupboards, looking for evidence of feeding raw meat to your pets?????? I dont think I like the direction this country is rushing head long and completely out of control, down......It would appear every single aspect of our existance is destined to be monitored and regulated and micro managed, by some form of a government appointed commission.....toooooo scary for my liking......dont let the camel get his nose under the tent for even a second....pay close attention to what is happening....give them an inch and they will take a mile and more!!! |
I don't know why anyone would be concerned about this. My vet discourages the practice of feeding pups a raw diet. It is her right, and obligation, to advise pet owners of her concerns regarding anything they do to/for their pups that she feels is unsafe. They either accept or decline her advice. |

All I can say is that I WANT my vet to tell me about things that may be hazardous to my pups....do I have to take what she has as gospel? No. But, I pay her for her knowledge and expertise. I really do not understand how anyone can compare this to government regulations. |
because it is catering to big pet food industry |

That conspiracy theory junk about vets supporting the pet food industry is imho just that...conspiracy theories. |
I'm a RAW feeder to my dog. But I'm not going to sit and tell people it will work for their dog or there isn't risks involved with it. My vet that I'm going to when he found out, explained the risks to me, and I appreciated his input because that's what I'm paying him to do. Just like I'd be paying him to recommend a RX food to me if my pet needed it. Do I think vets are bias? Sure some are, but at the same too, they're recommending what they have seen worked for dogs over their years experience. I don't think it's a conspiracy necessarily, but you can get a bad vet just like you can get a bad doctor. It is what it is, and they went through all of their schooling for a reason. I would trust my vet for anything Gizmo needed, and he understands my decision for how/what I feed my dog. Especially since he understands the amount of money I have spent in order to get Gizmo diarrhea free which is what this diet seems to be doing. |
It doesnt pass the smell test just like there overwhelming recomedations for science diet foods. It doesnt matter how it is explained away after a while its just obvious |
Raw has risks...vets are bought everyday...just go to their offices-hm what kind of food do they carry and promote-ask them straight out if they get commission on sales, of their patients who regularly buy from them on top of their retail percentage. I don't buy conspiracy theories but I do buy bribery and bureaucracy. |
Vets sell prescription foods....and those foods save dogs' lives. I know from experience that the prescription foods from Hill's, Purina and Royal Canin work. This is very different than everyday food for healthy pups. You all are not comparing the same things here. |
I didn't realize they were RX, aren't they the same formula just different packaging, of those brands you can buy the same ones at any bog box grocery as well? Independent laboratories rate TOTW better than all of the above food two of which are high allergen containing (in the grocery store varieties-which I thought were the same as the ones sold at the vet didn't realize they were rx if they are). My last two vets sold those also but the vets endorced TOTW and Evo so I had my dogs on those previous to going raw, well the newest vet we have like the refrigerator fresh non-preservative foods and does advocate for raw as well. |
