| Stinky head Every time my Graysee goes out in the sun, and she's been out for only a few minutes, when she comes back in the house the top of her head stinks! It happens 98% of the time! Have any of you experienced this with your Yorkie? I realize that we live in HUMID southeast Texas, but it's just such a yucky smell. It disappears after a little while, fortunately. I've even changed shampoo and conditioner three times now, but no difference. Anybody? |

| Jack will get a "sweaty" smell about his head if its really hot and humid, but not too bad - unless I am just used to his stinkiness....

| My boys get a "sweaty" smell about them whenever they go outside for a little while. We live in a VERY hot and humid region and this time of year is just HELL! Actually, the scent reminds me of "little kid" smell that all my friend's children have when playing outdoors. It is not unpleasant(unless they've rolled in something stinky) and usually dissipates after a few minutes back in the AC. |

If it doesn't dissipate, I will put a little shampoo on a wet washcloth and go over his head and face or I'll spray Yorkie Sheen detangling spray on it and brush him. I can't have a little stinker!!

| Stinky head OK! It seems that my little girl isn't the only one who gets "stinky". As far as the heat and humidity, the only time she stinks from being outside is when it is warm and humid (which in the Houston area, is most of the time); so I feel a bit relieved, now. Thanks. |

| My shep/chow had an ear infection that causes a stinky smell but he had a noticeable amount of black wax in his ears. Some simple drops cleared it up in like 3 days. As for being a Yorkie thing, Cesar only smells when he has rolled in another dogs old poop, or something dead or very stinky on the ground, which he will do. Going back to my shep chow, he rolled on a dead frog up north at the lake one year and several bath's couldn't get that stink out. If given the opportunity Cesar would do the same I'm sure but typically he smells very clean. His head never stinks unless like I said he rolled in something dead or smelly. |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Riley gets that smell when it's hot and humid also. And it does stink. Lily does not. Thought maybe it's just a boy thing

| check the ears Yes, I've checked her ears, looked through her hair with a comb, you name it! And, being an overprotective Yorkie dad, I NEVER let her out without going out with her, even if it's raining! Since we've had some rather large hawks, and even the occasional eagle, around here, I try to keep an eye open for trouble. Also, she doesn't "yak" through the back fence with the neighbor's dogs as much when I am out with her. And I NEVER let her roll in anything! If she even STARTS to roll over onto a dead worm or some other thing, it's a big "NO!" I do let her roll around in the house on her toys, though! That always gets me laughing. |
