Joel loves drinking from a syringe, when were going on a hike or a long walk I pack a bottle of water and his syringe and he likes it. Or just around the house too, and it might even get him used to a syringe if he ever needs to take medicine.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. How old is Sam and is he eating? Watch him closely for signs of dehydration. Make sure his gums are pink and moist. I would use the syringe to get a little water in him. Check in with your vet if this continues or if anything else seems different.

See if you can get Sam to lick water off your fingers or out of the palm of your hand. Good luck!

How about trying a different bowl....or a water bottle....or a few ice cubes? Or, if you want to be really sneaky - let him watch you put one of his favourite treats into his water bowl.... Sally + Harry x

Herschel got sick last week. Had high fever and after tests the vet said he had a sloightly elevated level aof crytals in his system. He said it was dehydration and might even be stones but would have to do a further exam to be sure. He said to watch him for the next week and if he improves then probably won't need to test further. I thought about the dehydration issue so I went to Rite Aide and bought a medicine dropper. I am giving him three tbls of water every two hours. He seems much im[roved and is hungry, pissing regularily, poop is fine and playhing tug of war with me like usual. I would go to Rite Aide and get the medicine dropper. It is a two piece package. A medicine dropper for liquids and a medicine scoop for dry ingredients. It was about $2.75. Hope that helps. I didn't realize that he wasn't drinking enough water. Although I just read a post under the recipe forum about chicken contributing to this crytaline issue.
