| Anyone give their dog yogurt or "Yoghound"? We just found out my little guy has improper liver function and I was doing some reading and came across suggestions to use yogurt as a healthy treat (think probiotics). I picked up some "Yoghound" (organic frozen yogurt for dogs) and he LOVES it, but I was just wondering....do you think yogurt is healthy for them and a good "treat"? |

| I have a Salton yogurt incubator (but it can be done in an oven or cooler) I add: 1 quart scalded milk (that has cooled back down to 150 degrees) 2 T prepared yogurt with active cultures or powdered starter mix and let sit undisturbed for 4-24 hours. 24 hours is a "true" yogurt. It should be very tart by that point. Tart enough to use in place of sour cream or add fruit/jam, etc to sweeten if desired.

| Not for Tatiana. I think she has a dairy allergy, as she had an itchy coat when I added yogurt to her food. When I withheld the yogurt (which was the new item to her diet), the scratching stopped. I add calcium powder to her food since I had to stop the yogurt. I gave her yogurt so she could get calcium. She's fine with the calcium powder. |

| I add yogurt every morning to her kibble for breakfast, that was the only way I could get her to eat before noon. |

| I give Lexie a spoonful of whole goats milk yogurt a few times a week. I use goats milk yogurt instead of cow because it's easier to digest and healthier for her. When it gets hot out i'll use it in a recipe for homemade doggy ice cream |

| This was something I was going to ask too. My pups are 19 weeks. Is it okay to give people yoghurt to them even though it's cows milk.
