| Help! I don't Know what is going on w/Tini! Hi everyone. I am not sure if I am just freaking out for nothing or if I have a serious problem..... For the past two days (Saturday and Sunday) Tini has been drinking a lot of water as compared to normal. Ususally she drinks 2 bowls in a day, now up to 3 or 4. Relatedly, she is peeing like crazy. She peed about 10 times yesterday and almost as many today. I didn't really freak out until she threw up and it was clear. I just gave her about an inch of nutristat. I am hoping I am just overreacting, but if not then I will for sure be on the phone with the vet first thing tomorrow. BTW. Tini weighs about 4.2 lbs and is just over 6 months old. Help! Thanks, Joanne |

| Looking back, in hind site, my old yorkie did the same thing..but he was really old and he had diabetes!!!!!! I knew all the drinking and peeing was not normal but he seemed fine.....when I did take him to the vet he had started vomiting ....often! When the vet got the bloodwork back his sugar was OVER 700!!!!!!! I could only suggest taking him to the vet soon! A little one like that that start having problems quickly! |

| Tini-drinking to much? I don't think you are over reacting, she is only 4.2 lbs. My bab is 5 lbs six month old and dose not drink much at all. You should at least, call the vet. It would not take much for a little dog to be dehydrated. I would be a little worry (freak out) too

| Update---Tini is fine. Went to the vet...I feel like such an overprotective mom, but she is my baby and definately worth all my worries to make sure she is ok. Today she was back to normal with the water. Vet says I should keep an eye on her for the next week or so and if anything seems out of line to bring her back in for testing etc. Thanks everyone for your support! Joanne |
