| Hip Dysplasia, Luxating Patella, and hurt back :( So Bindi and I recently moved into a two story house (previously she had only been on a one story). In the first two days she zoomed up and down the stairs then she demanded to be carried up and down. Well i thought she was sore or something but then yesterday a friend came over and she got so excited that she zoomed up and down with us but then she was limping. I thought maybe in the morning it would be better but no . She could barely walk. So she went to the vet and they said she hurt her back, has hip dysplasia and has grade two luxating patella..... so he sent us home with pain meds and told us to rest....is there anything else I should do??

| I'm so very sorry. We're on the mend at our house, too. I would ask for a referral to a specialist. I don't think you should take the word of a vet, but take the recommendations of a specialist instead.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear about Bindi. I would try and keep her from jumping, going up and down the stairs and if she isn't better take her for a second opinion. Hope she feels better soon.

| I would find an Orthopedic Dr and you can read about VOM in the YT library & this works great for the back issue. |

| I would see a board certified orthopedic surgeon. With multiple issues like this, it is best to have a specialist look at all of them and decide what takes priority in terms of treatment. One of my pups was recently diagnosed with hip dysplasia and she had a Femoral Head Ostomy (FHO) about a week ago. You can read her thread here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...-tomorrow.html Thankfully she did not have LP. I am not sure how that might impact them having a FHO done. If your vet does not know of a board certified surgeon that he recommends, you can find one here: American College of Veterinary Surgeons There is also a lot of helpful information on that site about orthopedic issues.
