| I'm having a rough time I'll try to make a longgggggggggggg story short! I have Brandi almost 6 years (actually tomorrow is her birthday). She is a poor eater, but maintains her weight. I believe at this point I have tried just about every single canned food, I'm down to her eating Evangers Roasted Chicken Drummets, I hate the food, I hate the company, but if she's going to eat that's about all I can get in her. NOW comes the tricky part. I rescued a little boy yorkie about two months ago. He's had liver shunt surgery and still has inoperable shunts so he will be on medication & special diet for the rest of his life. I feed them separately, but Brandi is very slow and the only food she wants to eat now of course is the KD...so I give her a teaspoon in her bowl but of course she only wants to eat her brother's food from HIS bowl. Meal time is rather stressful around here...oh and Brandi has become food aggressive since I brought her bother home....any help, recommendations, or any advice will be so helpful and appreciated...she doesn't eat dry food either, but I can't leave that around because my little boy can't eat it...it's really a problem... :-( |

| Separate them until they are finished eating. When I brought home my second boy, he wanted to eat out of his big brother's bowl, even when they had the same food. I put them on opposite sides of a baby gate until Teddy learned to eat out of his own bowl.

| You need to put them in separate rooms for feeding time , give them a few minutes to eat then pick up both bowls. They may be a little hungry for a couple of days from not eating much till they get used to the routine but all will fall into place. |

| my routine is to get both their food ready, I get his meds ready as well...I put Brandi's food down and I "catch" the little monster :-) I give him his meds...then put his food bowl in his pen...and then I put him in the pen...at that point Brandi usually leaves her bowl (in the other room and stands outside the pen watching him eat...just waiting for him to stop...but if I let him out I have to pick her food up so he doesn't get it...I've been sort of tricking her at this point...I put her in the pen when he's done...and I give her HER food...sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't |

| I feed my two girls together. But I stand right in the middle to make sure each stays away from the others bowl. If they don't eat it while it is down, it gets taken up. You will be surprised how fast they pick up on this. This has worked for us. I have never had to put them in separate rooms. But like I said, I stay right there with them. After the food was taken up a time or two they learned to eat it while it is there.
