| Watery Eyed yorkie puppies? We are in the process of choosing a yorkie puppy for our family and have pick of the litter at a local breeder. When we decided to get a yorkie our first thought was a female (because that is what we have owned in the past) and this specific litter has 1 girl and 4 boys. We fell in love with the girl and one little boy and we are having the hardest time choosing between the 2. My only concern is that the little girl always has watery eyes. We've seen her both at 6 weeks and again today at 8 weeks and she still had noticeably watery/dark spots under her eyes and the boy that we liked had very little to none. I did notice today that maybe 1 or 2 of the other puppies had watery eyes as well and when I asked the breeder she just said it was something puppies get. Is this ok or is it something I should worry about? I saw something online before about Cherry eyes? Could it be this? Here are some pictures I took today. She is on the left here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50431408@N08/6811808014/ Here are 2 more pics of her: girl2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! girl | Flickr - Photo Sharing! |

| Could it be from her diet even before she starting eating puppy food? Because we saw them before they were beginning to wean and she had the same watery eyes then (just before turning 6 weeks old). We were able to see the mom and dad and didn't notice it on either of them. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Puppies generally have watery eyes because of Cutting Teeth. It should calm down once all the permanent teeth are in. A Change in diet and water could also help. This helped Taycie a TON with watery eyes. I currently use Gerber Baby Water. I get it at Walmart. There is also a thread about Gerber Baby Water on here that also have had good success with it. Good Luck!

| Thank you so much for replying. Do you think it looks normal in the pictures? I will definitely read up on the gerber water! |

| Heres one more picture from about 1 1/2 weeks ago so she was about 6 1/2 weeks old here. She is on the right. puppies | Flickr - Photo Sharing! I would love more feedback. It is really bothering me that the boys eyes are perfectly dry and hers have been super wet/watery for weeks now, even before starting dog food. I would hate to pick a yorkie with health problems Please let me know if this seems normal and something I should stop worrying about. It is the only thing holding me back from choosing the girl! |

| Looks normal to me. I have 2 males and a female and my youngest has eye goop more than the other 2. We use filtered water, and have tried the gerber water but didn't notice a difference. I think some dogs are just more prone to tear staining. I know my moms Maltese had it horrible.
