Yorkie Yakker | ![]() Well, Christabel had her blood test done yesterday. The vet just called. Not good news but not bad either. Her count is 214 (still high normal is under 100). Her 1st test was 139, second test 250. The vet is glad it didn't go up, but it still didn't come down enough. She said we'll want another month and do a follow up. In the meantime just watch her closely, if she starts having any symptom or anything out of the ordinary to call and bring her in. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. |

| ![]() Just seeing this thread... I would, IMHO, ask the vet about putting her on Denamarin... it helps the liver to rejuvenate and can protect it. I am not familiar with laser tx to lower blood levels... If the ALT is the only liver enzyme affected... that usually means a toxin of some sort (Meds, flea products, mushrooms, grease to name a few). With Liver Shunt, usually 2 or 3 liver enzymes will be abnormal. It never hurts to do the Bile Acid Test anyway.

Yorkie Yakker | ![]() Kathy I will ask the vet tomorrow about Denamarin. The vet has been monitoring her liver count since February. She was suppose to be spayed then and her blood work came back with problems. Otherwise she seems like a happy healthy puppy. She did have me take her off frontline plus and put her on reg frontline. This past month I did not use frontline on her. Tomorrow she is scheduled for bile acid test and start the laser treatment. Thanks for the info. |

| ![]() My little Jilli Ann was scheduled for a spay on the 3rd but her blood work came back with an elevated liver count too. I'm taking her to a specialist for further test on Tuesday, 8th. She was never a good eater, but she's playful. She's so thin her back bone stick way out and so does her hip bones and ribs. The Vet. says she has 0 fat, but I've cooked about everything you can think of in order to get her to eat, but nothing works. I'm afraid my girl my have a shunt. ![]()
