Limping-Dont know whats wrong

MY baby started limping ..We watched it for few days and then decided OK hes not getting better..I took him to emergency vet on the weekend who shaved his leg thinking he might have a sticker in his paw from walking or a toenail problem. I actually carried him out to the potty this morning and he just laid there I was told his meds would make him really thirsty, really hungry and he would have to urinate a lot. Now mind you, this dog is always at my side or he cries...Today, I said I'm going for a ride.....no response...I said lets have some breakfast ( I hand feed him) and he came to me ever so slowly and faced the wrong direction??? I turned him around and he ate about 4 bites of food. He is totally shining me....So I called another doctor for a second opinion and now here I am...They basically don't know whats wrong with him(( She said , she thought the meds were making him weird and to stop taking them, let him rest and next week we would do xrays if he was not any better (This has been going on for 2 weeks) Although, they have to tranquilize him for the xrays which has me completely freaked out(( I just have visions of him stopping breathing or his heart stops or God knows what...This IS my baby after all!!!! And though no one feels any breaks, she will do them ( I think to make me feel better) Then we will go from there like a full blood work up looking for a tumor...god forbid...I am completely devastated and so frustrated that I cant make him feel better and fix this problem nor can either doctor...Does this sound familiar to anyone...I am at my wits end....and my brain is so tired from worry......I just hate seeing him like this(((((((Ideas anyone???

Actually No LadyJane, she wanted to do the xrays but wanted all the meds out of his system first..It wasnt that I wouldnt allow the xrays I actually made the second appointment TO get xrays..She did call and ask how his behavior is now with the drugs exiting his system She felt that once the drugs were out of his system it was not a life threatening limp...He did have a very bad reaction to his shots a month ago and thoughts were thrown around that maybe these drugs he was put on made the problem much more worse..Today he was himself again And I think whoever posted the items to have checked may have hit the nail on the head.. As it seems it may his neck or shoulder....The doctor told me to have him rest for another 3-5 days, then she would take two ex rays if I felt they were warranted..--one of the foot and one of the leg..If she didnt see anything she would the 2 more up to the neck ...And it dawned on me last night, BEFORE I noticed the limp...he didnt want to do rollover tricks...He thinks hes super dog and sits on the top of the couch and climbs onto the windowsill to watch outside..Im thinking now, he may have landed wrong when he jumped off? When I brought this up to the doctor today, she mentioned that if anything was broken, he would cry, and bite if it was moved...nomatter how sweet he is...And since she was not getting any of that she thinks he pulled a muscle...or may have arthritis in the joint...She did mention trying another inflammatory drug that wouldnt cause the side effects of the last one..as SHE doesn't feel anything is broken....Honestly, this doctor was very thorough and spent over an hour with him...He is walking on it a little more today,though he looks so pitiful...So I am just letting him rest his body and will be going back at the end of the week and we will go from there...Thank God she had me stop the medicine from the other doctor that was affecting him so bad..Hopefully, with no drugs in his system and rest she will able to able to proceed with any tests that can find the solution to the problem..

Is he on any pain medicine?

As of know no, as she is trying to get the medicines out of his system...Hes still hobbling but his demeanor is soo much better...(demanding treats) ? Im just happy we got off the medicine from the previous doctor..that was making him loopy...

But that just seems weird as it happened so fast...I have no idea how they test for that? Im just happy we got off the medicine from the previous doctor..

I just worry that he is in pain and has no pain meds at all and sense that is the case I would say things need to be done soon so hes not in pain for a long time with nothing to help it.
