| Ok, Jack was sent to me with a bag of Royal Canine, which is what he was given to eat before I got him..but he seems uninterested in it..My other dog eats science diet, and Jack will go to the other dog's bowl and chomp on some, but when I put some in HIS bowl, he doesn't eat it..I have also tried Ceasar puppy mixed with both foods, b/c the breeder suggested to buy some ceasar...he still seems uninterested. I have also put some Karo syrup on top of it to make it more enticing to him..still won't eat it.. My question is, what food would you suggest for me to give him? He is still a pup, at 11 weeks. WHen he first came home, he gobbled anything I put in front of him up! Not now! Confused! I don't wanna go out and buy new food if he isnt gonna eat it, so I am asking for some advice ![]() ![]() ![]() ALso- if I switch his food, how should I do so without messing his belly up?

| Well, i would stick with the royal canin that the breeder gave you since he is used to eating that.get a can of royal canin puppy food and warm up a couple tbs and mix it with his kibble and see if likes that. At that young age it would be better to keep him on the same food for awhile if you can...... |

| I don't know this to be fact, but from the sounds of it, he probably was eating with his litter mates out of the same bowl.... you said he will eat the food out of your other dog's bowl, so maybe that's the connection. He wants to eat socially, not alone? But I would keep him on the Royal. That is a good brand of dog food. Good luck!

| Some dogs do eat better with a bit of competition. Gracie hated dog food as a puppy but I did find she ate better when I would let the cats get near her food. It could be you pup is just remembers eating with litter mates and thinks that is how it's supposed to be. |

| That makes perfect sense guys! Thanks for the advice!!! Maybe he was eating with his liter mates, and that could be why he only eats out of the other dog's bowl, and not his own...I would have never thought of that! Lol! Thanks again! I will keep him on the Royal Canine..Maybe I will go and get some soft royal and mix it in..thanks again!

| does he have the same type of bowl that your other dog has? (i.e. are they both stainless steel, plastic, etc.?) i know i have heard of some dogs not "liking" certain dishes that they eat out of whether it's the sound of their tags hitting the dish that freaks them out or if it's a stainless steel bowl some dogs don't like seeing their reflection and get freaked out. |
