| Finally got a call from my vet saying our 4 pound CJ came through his nueter just fine he also had 9 baby teeth removed from bottom jaw. Oh my I have just been fretting all day, a real nervous wreck I was. Now I am not hyperventilating, Lol Then my vet told me tomorrow he would give him his flu shot. Somehow we missed him when everyone got their shots renewed I about freaked out for he had never mentioned giving this shot to any our fur kids I told him I would call him in morning with a decision. Anyone ever give their babies the doggie flu shot???? I thought all their immunizations went up... now I know why! On my invoice for all shot done it does not list this one... Am I wrong or is anyone else getting flu shots for furkids. I am thinking next year I am doing rabies and heartworm preventative andand nothing else. Thanks for letting me vent.

| I have never given my dogs a flu shot and don't intend to. In my opinion, it is just another $$$$-Maker for the big boys and a way to exploit pet owners. Dog Flu: Does Your Dog Need the New Vaccine? | Truth4Dogs

| Nope, would never give a dog the flu shot, or vaccinate yearly for anything.

| hi , i asked my vet about the flu shot for my dogs which is offered at my vet. she told me that unless they spend a lot of time at doggie daycares and dog parks etc.... it is unlikely they would need the flu shot. so i don't give them that one.. |

| Cj came through his nueter and dental extractions and is home now. That was a $224.00 bill, Oh forgot bloodwork before hand that was $94.00, but shewee I am glad it is over. I also after much reading have made a decision on vaccines for near future for my fur kids will be getting only the rabies and heart worm preventative. Nothing else! I am beginning to think I have been over innoculating (sp) my babies. Thanks for all the replies.

| Glad to hear CJ's surgery is over, he's back home and doing well. I will only be giving Zhoie a rabies, distemper and her continuance of heartworm preventative.
