| I check my yorkies ears regularly for infections which they have never had not even my floppy eared one. I don't cleanse the ears. Pull or cut the hair. I guess I have been lucky with them. For my golden, Lucky, he always had ear infections mostly yeast stating as a puppy. I had to have his one ear cut down and part of the canal removed from scarring. He was allergic to all commercial cleansers and became allergic to all antibiotic drops, too. My vet did some research and found "blue brew" it is a mixture of isopropyl alcohol, gentamicin drops, and boric acid powder. I used it on Lucky and he never had another ear infection.
