♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Losing weight How would you go about getting you dog to slim down a little? Is there a special food you would feed. Asking for a gal that has one of Lexi's pups..she is just a easy keeper and needs to lose maybe 3pds. Any suggestions would be appreciated. She is walking her daily. I also am interested as Lily since she was spayed seems to be putting on a little. I free feed but may have to stop if she continues to gain. Thanks

| Lexi and Kayla both are on the OM prescription dog food. I can tell Lexi has lost some and Kayla has lost the most. I feed them the canned and dry. Vet said absolutely no treats until they lose their weight. Sometimes we sneek a cheerio when they have been good letting me bathe and groom them. lol!!! |

| Schedule feed a reduced amount of whatever they are getting now and increase exercise. If that doesn't work, then an rx food should be used (OM, R/D, etc.). No treats (can replace with pieces of kibble, but that would have to be subtracted from their meals or non-starchy veggies work, but most still contribute a few calories which is a lot for a Yorkie, so be careful).

| I would reduce the amount of food you feed by 10% and monitor the dog weekly.

| If it were my pet, I wouldn't change foods if the little ones were healthy, happy, and had good coat condition. Instead, I would reduce the total daily caloric intake and increase the activity level. |
