| Natural Balance Lamb & Rice Really loving this food so far. It seems to be working very well with Jackson and I am pleased so far, but he hasn't been eating it long yet. Just wanted to put it out there and see if anyone else was feeding this particular formula. First, we were on Castor & Pollux which worked great but he started getting terrible eye goopies. Then we tried California Natural, which immediately helped with the eye boogers, but seemed to be making his coat really dull and he did not seem to like it all that much so I decided to try the NB... poops are good thus far, he loves the taste, and I think it actually smells pretty good! His vet (not the one who treated his pancreatitis) was happy with the food choice too. I'll be re-checking his bloodwork in about a month and see how all is going on his insides. I could not find the calories on their site and I e-mailed them and they promptly responded back within 45 minutes: Quote:
Anyone else feed NB with good results?

| Btw, we are also using certain formulas of Weruva canned food. I LOVE it -- it looks sooo yummy, I even want to eat it, LOL. Jackson absolutely goes bonkers for it.

| I have been feeding Jada and Bogie Natural Balance for almost a year now. They are doing so good on it. I do the LID diet formula Sweet Potato and Venison, because of Jada's chicken and grain allergies. Both my guys have nice firm poops and as far as poop goes, it isn't smelly. No eye boogies either

| Hi Brit, I use to feed the natural balance dog food rolls lamb and rice formula for treats and Teddy did well on it. Now, I'm giving Teddy the Natural balance limited ingredients diet fish and sweet potato formula and he absolutely loves it and is doing well.

| My two have been on NB Chicken Formula for awhile- I love it. I had taken them off for a short time because the kibbles were too large and they never really did great on anything else- it was always a struggle getting them to eat- as soon as NB came out with the small bite version I switched back and they are back to eating every meal without complaint.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm glad you found a food that's working for you, and while eye buggers can be caused by a new food and you would see this fairly fast, I believe it would take many many months before you see the results of a food change on hair shine or growth. Hair grows under the skin and it takes several days to even see the beginning of growth. His hair growth and shine could be off due to his recent illness, even a dose of antibiotics can effect hair growth and health.

Maybe it's just me... it just seemed like since starting the CN, his hair got a bit more dull, but it could just be our well water acting up too of course. I gave him a bath last week. I read a few other reviews on this food where it was mentioned so maybe I just got it in my head and was looking too hard at his coat. lol. Either way, he seems to really like this better so I'll probably use the rest of the CN when I visit my dads house so it doesn't go to waste.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The hair you actually see is dead, you can put coatings on it that affect the way it looks, and of course, it's easier to damage something than improve it, but diet takes many months before you see results. Not sure if water could affect it, I would think well water would be great. Has he been swimming a lot, chlorine can be hard on hair and strip it of its natural oils.

| Nope, it's been too cold to swim, lol. He hasn't in probably over a month. Our well water is terrible. I rarely wash my hair here- HATE well water with a passion, LOL. I go to my moms salon to wash my hair and then go home and style it. The well water is terrible for human hair so I assume it'd be the same for Yorkies. Especially when your step-dad never puts proper salt in the water lol. It's probably just me.... seeing things that aren't there, looking too much into things, haha. He's getting new shampoo/conditioner tomorrow (it should be here by then! Ordered it online) and I am curious to try it out!!

YT 2000 Club Member | I had my dogs on CN for awhile a year or so ago and they lost interest in it too fairly quickly. I also noticed that their coat just wasnt as soft as it had been, and my shedding dogs, ended up shedding more. So I switched foods, problem was solved. I have just started Tucker on NB canned foods to mix with his I/D dry and so far he seems to like it and is doing well. I have a bag and a half of the I/D left but when they are gone Im going to consider switching to one of their dry LID foods. Glad to hear Jackson is doing so good!!

| Our Wheaten Terrier has a lot of allergies and he does really well on the Natural Balance...our Yorkie likes to get into the 'wrong' food bowl and 'help' the Wheaten eat his food so clearly they both like it! |

| I tried NB once with Sasha about 3 years ago during her picky stage. This was the one food where I resorted to adding canned food to entice her to eat, but even then she outsmarted me and would lick the canned off and leave the dry. Eventually, she just wasn't interested in it at all. I'm glad Jackson is enjoying it and doing well on it! |
