				   | Has anyone heard of or fed their furbabies Earthborn Holistic dog food? I can't find many reviews or information about it and I am thinking about feeding it to my lab/springer. Ingredients look good. If you have any information it would help greatly! Thanks!

				   | I was feeding this one to my two until our feed store recently quit carrying it. Dog Food Reviews - Earthborn Holistic Primitive Natural - Powered by ReviewPost I was very happy with it. I switched to Wellness, but have not been too happy with it, so I will be looking for something else or ask my feed store to special order this back in for me.

				   | Always seemed like a really nice food to me! Although the grain-free ones are a bit high in calories/fat. I don't really know much about the company, though. But the only thing that stinks is that it seems hard to find.

				   | I received a 1 pound sample bag and 3 coupons from them, but have not fed it as of yet. I learned about them in the 2011 Whole Dog Journal list of recommended dog food. I actually used this list from Whole Dog Journal in requesting samples from the manufacturers. I used this email to contact them: contact@earthbornholisticpetfood.com |

He is currently eating Fromm which I love but it does not love him-gives him really bad gas and he actually started to turn his nose up and not wanting to eat it.

				   | According to Dogfoodanalysis, the food has a whopping 717 calories per cup! That is the highest I have ever heard for any kibble. Daily portions would have to be very small. I thought 430-480 calories was high for some of the grain-free, high-protein foods. It also has 20% fat. I would want to know more about who manufacturers it.

Oh I didn't look at that but that is a concern because I don't want him to gain any weight....and I was concerned about who manufactures it too...can't find too much info.... Hmmmm, seems my search my go on because that seems like way too many calories! UGH!! Was that the calorie content for the grain-free only? They have a non grain-free adult kibble and that is what I was planning on getting...I will have to check on that.

Help--how do you figure out what the calories would be: 410 kilo-calories...not sure I understand how they are calculating this.....

				   | ![]() Ugh....just figured it out and that would be like 3x more than what he should have for his weight and size..... And the search goes on...... I am looking for something that is good for him but not so hard on my pocketbook....it is quite the ongoing battle!!!

				   | The reason I started feeding this was because my Moka seems to have mild allergies and it was the only grain free I could find at our local feed store. It was an experiment to see if the itching would stop. I liked it right away because the scratching stopped, the poop is practically odorless, and they don't have any gas. When they stopped carrying it, I went back to Wellness, and Moka is now itching again, and one of my girls wakes me up in the middle of the night with gas! ![]() LOL. I don'tknow which one yet, they are not taking ownership. My girls are very active. Just tonight they entertained me by playing tag up and down, down and up, and down off the deck. Sooo funny.. so they get plenty of exercise plus we walk. Mylee is still a little on the thin side. I have always fed 4 very small meals a day and they did fantastic on it. Two weeks back on Wellness and Moka is itching. (disclaimer...I think Wellness is a good food....something in it just irritates Moka) Since my feed store doesn't carry it anymore, I will probably look for something else.

				   | We use Earthborn as one of the kibbles in our rotation. We've never had any problems with it and my girls really seem to enjoy it. I've seen no weight gain on any of my four but it's not their main food. In general, we feed Honest Kitchen which is lower in fat/calories. |

Well I may just give it a try. This is for my lab/springer who is about 60 pounds and for his size he should not gain any weight. My main concern is that he is on Fromm now and about 20-30 min after he eats there is the most awful, rancid, horrible smell in the house and I know it's from him. In fact he is always so anxious to eat his food and the other day he looked at it and turned his nose up...I mixed in some of the Earthborn sample I had and he ate it all....and there was very little gas too. I am just hoping I can feed him enough so that he isn't hungry and he doesn't gain any weight. I love the concept of the food and believe that it would be good for him. I can get it right here in town at the specialty animal supply store so I am good to go there.
