| I took Pixie last weekend to be groomed.... She was pretty cute... They put a little red bow in her hair and everything! I was a little upset with the groomer though.... I told her not to touch the hair on top her head, I want it long enough to do a top knot. I guess the hair right above her eyes isn't considered "on top of her head" because she cut it... short! Pixie now has bangs! And although it is cute, it's not what I wanted. It's going to take soooooo long for it to grow back to the same length it was (she probably cut off a good two inches). And don't they normally pull the hair inside the ears? They didn't do that either. I ended up doing it myself the next day! Though her little trim is cute, I don't think I'll take her back there. I'm tempted to buy a clippers and do it myself. With a bit of practice, I'm sure I could groom her as well as anybody else. She already stands nicely while I brush her... And she doesn't seem to mind having her teeth brushed and nails clipped (my hubby has to hold her for this right now, but she stays pretty still). I think with a bit more work, she'll stand long enough for me to trim/clip everything too. Muffie's Mom: That's cool they only charge $10! Did they bathe her too? |

| Finding a good groomer is trial & error. That's like trying to find a new hair dresser when you move to a new town! Yes, the $10 was for a bath also. The lady raises Bouviers so maybe bathing a Yorkie puppy is nothing to her! Our puppy is not even as big as her dog's head. LOL

| After working for a mobile grooming company and having my own Yorkie done by other groomers, and then finally doing her myself, Ive learned alot. First of all, I made the mistake of telling the groomers assistant what I wanted and ended up with something I DIDNT WANT at all because the assistant neglected to tell the groomer. So talk to the groomer directly. I was SO angry, I cried in the shop! They cut off her top knot and cut off 3-4 inches more then I said, GRR! Ahh anyway... You can also tell them what shape you want her head/beard, round or rectangle, if you want them to cut that area. When I groom my Yorkie I just trim off what areas seems thin on the body and head (or "even" it up), round her feet, and trim up her backside. It gives her a pretty neat appearance when I keep on top of it all. We also tried not to do much when it was a puppies first or second groom, so they hopefully get used to being handled in that matter. I just found out that I was WAYY too picky with what I wanted, and Groomers always tend to do what they think looks best. So I got passed being nervous cutting her hair, realized that it WILL grow back, invested in some grooming tools, and now would never have someone groom my furbaby.

| Well I can attest to terrible grooming experience. I say DON"T cut a single hair on her head and I pick up her and all her hair is cut off. I want to learn how to cut her myself. I am nervous to cut between her pads on her feet but I am going to learn how. I am now going to try and find Pixie's picture- glad you liked her groom |
