| A Question about food Lexi is so finicky. It doesn't help any that my family refused to stop giving her 'little tastes' of food from the table because "she's so cute and what can it hurt her, she likes it so much". Up to now Lexi has been eating boiled chicked (that I boil for her) mixed with he dog food. Now she won't touch the chicken if it has dog food in it. She's stubborn about it too. She's gone 5 days without eatting anything but a few pieces of the dry kibble. And this hunger strike was when I was closely monitoring that no one gave her table scraps. My question is, is just the plain boiled chicken good for her? Should I be giving her vitamins? If so, what type of vitamins? I've read that some people feed their babies only food they've prepared such as steak and chicken. She eats plain chicken very well and it doesn't give her any tummy troubles but I'm concerned about this diet. What is everyone's opinion out there? Isabel |

| I don't have any fussy eaters, but I do supplement the dry kibble with a raw mix 'meatball' for kids that need a bit more intake (mom's and the boys who forget to eat when anyone is in heat). I would be worried if all she is eating is chicken, she's missing trace elemnts that she'd need for good health. Also, make sure you keep up good teeth brushing since soft stuff only can wreck teeth fast. If you want the recipe for meatballs, you can e-mail me at sylvanyorkies@yahoo.com . |

| I supplement all my babies food with vitamins and I really like Pet Tabs. The best part is that they love them to and think that they are treats. Hee Hee, I love it when I am giving them something good and they like it to. Doesn't always happen with other things.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My yorkie Zorro was malnurished when I got him a long time ago and he would only eat chicken, I tried everything! So every Sunday I would roast a whole chicken and bag it up for the week. He lived to 13 with all his teeth! Go figure.

| Thank you all for your posts! I'm going to go look for those Pet Tabs and start giving them to her. I know these little babies we have have fragile consitutions so I just wanted to feel that a) I wasn't starving her to death out of stubborness and b) that there is a vitamin I can give her. Have a great holiday all! |

| We have the same problem. My baby would not eat dog food at all. I home cooked for her: salmon, boiled chicken, boiled chicken liver. Although she ate Natural balance roll and Prairie raw food ( I still have to cooked it, I could not stand my baby eating raw). My vet gave me a bottle of Thorne vitamins, 1 capsule dailywhen I mentioned to her about her eating habits. And she seems pretty healthy. Goodluck |
