| I would be finding a new groomer. My groomer only uses a body harness on them- no neck noose. I would only take mine to a groomer who allowed me to stay and watch- if they have something to hide, I don't want to use them. After I felt comfortable enough with her and knew how she treated my babies, I was fine leaving them.

| I really appreciate all the responses you guys are giving me! I have definitely decided that we will not be going back to the same groomer. Funny how the owner was quick to respond to my message yesterday wanting to find out what was wrong but I haven't heard form her since. As far as a mobile groomer, I'm not aware of many in my area. The only one I know of basically comes by and picks the dogs up and brings them back a few hours later, similar to when you would drop them off at a stationary groomer. So I'll do some research to see what other mobile groomers might be in the area. I'm also researching starting to groom her myself. I don't imagine it would be that difficult with the appropriate preparation and patience. On the plus side, her tummy issues seem to have resolved. I wonder if that was caused by the stress of whatever happened there? |

| I would suggest you find some meet up groups in your area. I live in Northern Virginia and have found a great yorkie meet up group here - NoVA Yorkies and Friends. I've learned lots from the members and they are such a great resource. Additionally my boy gets to be with other yorkies. Go on Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup to search for a group in your area. I usually do my own grooming but occasionally I need some professional style advice. I found a grooming shop that will groom while I am there and show me how to do things. Perhaps that's rare but I'm sure you can find a place that will let you stay while they do the job. I wash and dry my boy at home and then I take him. They don't seem to mind me being there.

| It upsets me just thinking about this. I have never had a groomer that used the noose on my dog in the tub. That is just barbaric. If they cannot handle a little dog in a bath tub then they have no right to be doing what they are doing. I would not leave my dog there again. I have the feeling they are not telling you the whole truth here anyway. |

| Oh I agree that I'm probably not getting the whole story. I think that's one of the reason I still haven't heard back from the owner since I told her about the bruises. She did mention that they had a new bather that just started 3 weeks ago, but as others have said even if they did use a noose on her in the tub she shouldn't have gotten bruised the way she did. I am leaning towards just working on grooming her myself from now on. I can't imagine how she would feel if I tried to take her to another groomer. Lord only know what happened to her last time! |

| Just an update on this, I NEVER heard back from the owner of the groomer! I think that tells me everything I need to know. No more groomers for us-I'm looking into taking care of her at home! |

| Is there an agency you can report these people to? I'm sure they must have a license though the state. It just seems that if there is some sort of abuse going on there it might be good to warn others. |
