| Question after surgery So Layla had a small bump removed from her back today- they said it went great. When I picked her up I noticed it was bleeding a small bit but we were in the car and I figured they looked at her before they let her go. It is still seeping a small amount- is this normal? I have patted it with a kleenex twice since we have been home and only a small amount is coming out. The vet used internal stiches. |

| Sounds normal. Serous (pale to clear) fluid from an incision is normal and a little blood of blood can be fine. Would just not let her mess with it and keep an eye on it. If it opens up, then be concerned.

When I dabbed it it was mainly clear- maybe slightly pink- it was definitely not pure blood. I have never seen internal stitches so I was just worried it was separating since there are not any external stitches keeping it closed. I put her back in her crate to rest so I"ll look at it again when she comes out. Thanks so much | |
