| Smelly and dirty ears ! Its sooo bad smell of Fido's other ear, its been this way for about a year I try to keep it as clean as I can but I only clean his ears about 1-2 a month cause he HATES it. The good ear is always 100% clean, but the bad ear when I clean it there is chocolate brown dirt coming from it and it never stops ! I can clean his ears for half an hour it still comes as much dirt The vet says he does not have ear infection, Ive gone and let the vet check his ears now three times but he never sees anything wrong with it, different vet each time I've went there.

| Have they swabbed the ear and put it on a slide to look at it under the microscope? Dark discharge in a smelly ear is not normal.

| Brown Chocolate, smelly ears is indictative of an infection. Have a vet look at him and prescribe meds. The one thing that is necessary is to administer a cleaning solution, with a drying agent and acidifier after every bath.....the dog will shake out the excess

He's very sensetive in his bad ear, I can touch them but if I'm gonna clean them he runs away and hides, sometimes growls Ellie May , no they havent done that !

| Untreated ear infections are also painful. Perhaps the vet could see him sooner?

| Thanks ! I can't go to the vet with him sooner cause we dont have money until 1 of august, its so expensive to go to the vet here, just walking into the vets office costs 60 dollars, about a month ago he got bad diarrhea and just the meds and special dog food for that costed 150 dollars ! its SO expensive I will propably walk out with 100-200 dollar bill, but I do everything for my Fido. He does not seem to hurt his ear or be uncomfortable, he's always the same jolly dog, he just hurts himself when Im cleaning them, I think though that he doesnt hurt when I clean his ears but that he itches so much (he ''kicks'' with his back feet in the air when I'm cleaning them). I will buy ear drops for him and hopefully get some meds to fix this ! Thanks I know that I have to let the vet check this more now, I didnt think this could be so serious ! thanks again.
