| Donating YT 500 Club Member | I had to make a stop at the Vet office yesterday for some FortiFlora and Heartguard for Taycie and they have raised their prices on Heartguard. So... I was wondering if any of you order online, what is a good website to go through? And... how does it work as far as ordering? Does the vet have to give you something so you are able to order it? Thanks Bunches

				   | Yes, online is the only way I order Mocha's Heartguard and Frontline Plus. I order through Drs. Foster and Smith. For a 3 month supply of Frontline and 6 month supply of Heart Guard I pay roughly $57 for the whole order. I simply submit our vet information, vet verifies it, and the order is processed. For me it is SO much cheaper than getting it directly from our vet. Good luck. |

I need to add to my comment, my vet actually recommended Drs Foster and Smith, he has a small office and told me he can't match their prices and he has a lot of patients who use them.

				   | I know some heartworm companies only guarantee their product if they are purchased directly from the vet- I have heard of dogs getting heartworm while on the meds and it is very expensive treatment- I don't want to mess around with that so I only buy directly from my vet.

				   | I get the meds from my vet for Ellie. If given year-round with annual testing, Merial and presumably Novartis will cover treatment if there is ever an issue. You would probably have to buy it from your vet for this. Also, the less drugs bought from the vet and the more drugs bought online means the vet is making less money on pharmacy products and may have to raise prices elsewhere. That said, Ellie's vet has no problem with Foster and Smith or even 1800PetMeds last I knew.

				   | I'd go ahead and call the company to ask. Not sure.
