| 6mo Puppy Hoarding Her Poo! Please help! I have a 6 mo female yorky. Sweet as can be, about 99% pad trained, BUT she will pick up her poo and take it to her bed if I dont catch her when she poos and dispose it. I work so I can not be here all the time to watch her. She does not eat it, just puts it in her bed. PLEASE HELP. Dont know why she does this. I have heard of other pups eating their own poo, but never heard of them hoading it???? Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. |

| Coco eats, hordes her poo as well as mickey's poo when we're at my mom's... I spoke to the vet but i got no advice from him. I'm told by the vet as well as from my research that dogs play/eat with poo when they feel stressed. and they eat when they feel like they're not getting enough nutrition. So is it possible that your baby is stressed?

| Sorry - but I started laughing when I read this! No, I know it is not funny, but who knows what goes on in their little puppy brains. I am working with mine to get them to stop eating their poop. First just one of them, now they both like to sneak a turd bite if they can. I don't know if this will help, but how about putting a t-shirt you have worn in her bed. Since it will smell like you maybe that will comfort her. Good luck - let us know if you find something that works. |

| I feel your pain. My boy doesn't hoard his, he eats it. It's something I've been dealing with for almost a year now. At this point I can only assume it's a behavioral problem and I'm training him to leave it. Maybe find the poop, pick it up and put it back on the pad? Maybe she wants to clean up her mess? Are you every around when she poops? I would suggest if you catch her in the act of pooping, teach her to leave it and treat her.

| 6mo old hoarding poo-wondering??? Thanks everyone for your ideas on why Ava Grace may be hoarding her poo. She does not eat it, as I said, just hides it under her blanket in her bed. Its almost like a possesion thing. She does the same thing with her toys if we play fetch..she will take off to her bed. We do have the older yorkie-Chloe. Chloe is about 9 lbs and Ava Grace is only about 3, so I wonder if picking up her poo off of the pad and taking it to her bed is a dominence issue? BTW, she eats the Natural Balance small bite Sweet Potato and Duck formula. Could it be she needs something she is not recieving from the food? Only have her on this food because Chole had some allergy issues. She does not seem to be nervous, or clingy. Any more suggestions are appreciated. |
