YT Addict | Mosquito repellant? It's my understanding that people can take vitamin b1 or brewer's yeast over a period of time and it will make one rather unpalatable to mosquitoes, but is there something we can do for our wee doggies to make the darned mozzies leave them alone? I was walking Jenna tonight, and while they gave me a wide berth (been taking my vitamins, me) poor Jenna was getting mobbed any time she stopped to pee! I am worried about her getting some nasty something from one of them...we live in Alaska so heartworm and parvo are not as prevalent, if at all, than they are in the states, but I still worry. I hate using commercial products unless it's just citronella oil or lavender. I have three very sensitive house bunnies for whom it won't do to have me smelling like OFF! And since Jenna's so small, I'd be afraid of poisoning her with something like that. We only go out a few times a day for about 15 minutes, so it's not like we both need to stink all the rest of it...lol. >.< Looking forward to responses. Many thankies in advance!

| I use Advantix here for flea and tick repellant. It also repels mosquitoes. Works wonderfully and we have quite a few here lately.

| We use frontline. I know some people like to use Minksheen shampoo to help w/ biting insects. I personally would not risk exposing my dog to unnecessary bites and frontline has worked wonderfully for us for 11 years.

| I use Advantix II. I love it!! Never had an issue with any bug! * Kills and repels more parasites than Frontline Plus for dogs (based on label claims) * New and improved Advantix II kills ALL flea and tick life stages * Protects dogs with IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) pyriproxyfen * Prevents eggs and immature forms from developing into adults * Prescription-free topical kills fleas, ticks, lice and mosquitoes * Repels biting flies, ticks and mosquitoes - common carriers of disease

| Advantix is labeled for it. Frontline Plus may also work. Some companies just don't put their product through testing for all of that.
