| Our vet prescribed this for Jada last year when she had a severe allergic reaction to a new food. It worked really well to give her relief from horrible itching. She had torn about half of the hair off of her head from scratching. It did make her very drowsy and kind of spaced out. It isn't something I would give on a daily basis, but it did give her relief until the food worked its way out of her system. Benadryl doesn't work for her at all and that is why our vet gave her this.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks Michelle for your quick reply! Princess Chloe has been on Temaril-P and is now tapering off with a 1/8 of a pill evey other day. On the days she's not taking TP the vet wants her to take 1/4 of Hydroxyzine. She has an upcoming surgery on 7/11 for AAI congenital condition. Princess Chloe weighs 3.14 lbs and is 9 months old, and after reading the side effects on the internet I guess I'm just a little nervous. Thanks for your help! Naomi & Princess Chloe |

| I hope Princess Chloe starts feeling better soon and that her surgery is a huge success. The only side effect Jada had was the drowsiness. That side effect was minor compared to the discomfort she had from the severe itching.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks Michelle! I started her on 1/4 pill every 12 hrs. I couldn't see her scratching so much and finally gave her the medication. Thanks for your help and well wishes. Take care. Naomi & Princess Chloe |

| This is what I came to look for and ask too! The vet recently prescibed Hydroxyzine for Henry's allergies. I'm to give him 1/4 tablet twice a day. He was sneezing, licking his paws and had at least one snot sneeze. YUCK! I'm trying to see how long it will take before I see a difference. |

| Callie takes this for her allergies. She gets a bad runny nose, watery eyes, itchy skin and her skin will brake out and has led to a skin infection. The vet said she can take one pill every 12 hours but I normally only give her one a day around 11am so shes covered for the time she is outside the most which is afternoon and early evening. It really helps Callie and it doesn't seem to have any bad effects on her.
