| Garlic in dog food?!? I am currently feeding my pup Wellness Supermix for puppy and it got really great reviews on dogfoodadvisor.com accept it has a controversial ingredient....garlic. I also looked at other top brands carried in my local store like Blue Buffalo and it has garlic listed as well. Should this ingredient concern, should I switch to something else. I thought I was doing good for my pup but now I am concerned...I feel like my head is spinning from looking up so many brands. |

| Well, it's controversial. It's not something I'd be excited to feed day after day. When given the choice, I'd choose something else. However, Ellie's food has garlic in it because it's an rx diet and there is nothing I can do about it. If my dog was eating a food with garlic, I would keep an eye on the red blood cells.

| I don't know why they can't find something else to put in the foods to add flavor. Garlic is most of the time ok in small amounts, so there's probably only a very small amount in there, not enough to hurt them, but still, idk if I'd want to feed it every single day, even in a small amount. I suppose lots of people do though without any problems, some people feed a bit of fresh garlic to their dogs to supposably ward off fleas, so idk, I think it has to be alot to hurt them. Still doesn't make sense to me why they have it in the food in the first place though.
