| YT Addict | Britster... thanks! I have been feeding Acana Small Breed [a 60/20/20 mix] I have requested samples from Acana for the Ranchland, then from Orijen for 6fish and adult dog... it's funny it's made in Alberta and I've never seen Ranchlands, Grasslands, or Prairie Harvest anywhere! Yet in the states everyone seems to be able to find it lol... maybe since their factory is in Alberta and I live there they'll send me some samples...maybe! I also sent into Natures Variety, Chicken Soup, and TOTW lol, gotta stock up! I'm glad you mentioned you're feeding Jackson those two, because I was hoping they will like Ranchland! I know they'll start selling that here soon.

| It is hard to believe that Yorkies are supposed to be ratters. They are the pickiest eaters ever. All the Yorkies I know have had to be hand fed at least 1 time or another and most many times. Yes, I buy Orijen and they act like like they are being forced to eat it , well I guess they are because I won't buy them anything else. If someone visits and bring some other crappy food for their dog they will try to dive into it.I guess the fast food and health food is the correct analogy. It is very frustrating to spend good money on good food and then they act put upon in some way. |

| YT Addict | Yeah she came to us on Science Diet Small Bites, she will gobble that up ONLY if I make a game out of it and throw the pieces then she loves to go get them, but if I throw a piece of Acana she sniffs it, and leaves it! So much smarter than we know haha... Hopefully after I get some samples I can find out what she and pooter can agree on eating and something that wont give Pooter the runs... hes been on Acana for 3 years because of his stomach. Should be interesting.

I have tried the cold turkey approach, but all that did was cause her to go eating maybe 1/3 to 1/4 cup of food a day... she needs A LOT more nutrition than that. I asked for some sample from Orijen, Acana, TOTW...etc like I stated earlier. Hopefully some of them will send us stuff to try, I'm not going to buy 5 diff bags of food to return them... that's a waste of food. Until then she'll have a bowl that is 2/3 SD, and 1/3 Acana

| When I first got Lexie the breeder had her on Royal Canine. I bought Merrick and she refused it. Then I bought Orijen(puppy) and she refused that, but I wasn't gonna buy anything else. I started mixing it with wet and warming in the microwave, she ate. Now she eats it dry no problem, both Orijen(Regional Red) and Acana (Grasslands).Sometimes she'll look at me for a while when I put the bowl down like "really mommy? that's it, again?" lol and will walk away but she eats eventually cause she has no choice. So hang in there. A healthy dog won't starve itself when theres food available. I'm switching Lexie to a raw diet only because she enjoys it more and it's much better for her. |
