| If you have cats, please remember Permethrin is highly toxic to them. Flea drugs should be chosen very carefully. I is very sad to watch what this can do to kitties. Usually a vet won't recommend Advantix if a cat lives in the house, but some owners go out and grab the OTC BioSpot for dogs and don't realize what they are doing. Please be careful.

| I have two cats and I thank you for putting this out there. I had no idea and will make sure my vet knows when he recommends something.

| Im glad you posted this because I have cats and someone posted the other day that it wasnt wise to use advantix on your dogs if you have cats in the house and I was curious and asked why and didnt get a response. I use advantage and they have a cat version . Ive never had any problems from its use but only use it when I need to because I dont like to use unnecessary chemicals if I dont have to

| I was just looking at that thread and somebody came by later and answered. Advantage is just fine. It's the Advantix because of the permethrin.

| I don't have cats, but I have been in the ER witnessing a cat seizing to its death from an owner using that permethrin on the cat instead of the dog. It was a bad scene.

The Harts brand crap is worse Crystal, do you know if there's permethrin in the Harts flea product that's actually FOR cats? I know there's soooo many cases of people using harts "for cats" that have major problems also, just never learned specificaly why.

| Yes, Frontline Plus is safe to use around cats. If you are using it on your cats, just make sure to get the one for cats for good dosing accuracy.
