| dry skin I don't know why but recently Mango's skin has been flaking a little. What should I buy to prevent this/make his skin more moisturized? Is there a certain kind of lotion I can get? |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Have you been bathing Mango frequently? T's vet said not to wash her more than once every 4-6 weeks, unless she gets dirty or smelly. You might want to look for a shampoo with oatmeal in it to soothe irritated skin. I've seen some with aloe recommended as well, but since aloe can be toxic to pets if ingested, I stay away from those. Rather than putting a moisturizing product on Mango, you might want to talk to your vet about adding an omega3 fatty acid supplement to his diet. |

4-6 weeks? Wow. I have to wash mine every 7-10 days and have been doing that since puppyhood and no dry skin.

| What shampoo do you use on him? Do you use a creme rinse or a conditioner?

| I bathe Mango every 10 days or so. Otherwise he gets very smelly and his hair gets greasy and matted. I don't know what kind of shampoo I've been using, but I will have to get a conditioner. |

| Baby shampoo is actually quite harsh. I use Biogroom or Pantene for people (I rotate alot), and when I put the conditioner on, I massage it in real good and I use alot of it (mine are full coated), and then keep it on for at least 2-3 minutes. I do the same for my own hair and scalp... and last month my mom went to the doctor for flakey scalp and that's just what he told her to do. (Of course she wouldn't listen to me... haha)

Yorkie Yakker | Mylee had the same problem. I use Nootie shampoo and conditioning spray and her skin is fine and smells great for days. I love the sweat pea and vanilla.

| Find a very gentle shampoo and a good conditioner. Also- when I start to see some little flakes I will give each of mine a sardine a day until the can is gone- they LOVE it! and it clears up the dry skin

| roseslevi told me about Solid Gold Seameal for dry skin and flakes, and it works really well. You just sprinkle it on the food; Ian loves it. He only eats dry kibble, and licks his bowl with that on it. His flakes are gone (he had a lot when we adopted him) and he doesn't scratch as much as he did. That may help your baby.
