| help oily yorkie hair i need some help with pebbles hair.... i bath her once a week or try to and two days later she looks like i havent bath her in weeks. I use a good organic shampoo as i am doing the home cooking because she is a itchy baby and we are trying to rule out food allergies and if that dosent help i guess well go back to square one. The other thing she does is chew the hair off her back legs and naws on her front paws. Her coat is really thin and isent growing as it should.. I am open to any suggestions as the vets dosent have a clue. Scrapings were ok .. thanks cathy and pebbies Last edited by pebblespoo; 02-28-2011 at 10:15 PM. |

| The other thing she does is chew the hair off her back legs and naws on her front paws If no-one responds here then try to post in "General Discussion" It could be an allergy that is causing her to do this. What are you washing her bedding in? What are you putting in her food? What kind of shampoo are you using? Have you tried an Oatmeal shampoo/conditioner. Sorry for all the questions and I do not have a lot of experience in this area but it is some things I have learned up here. I hope you find some relief for your little one............................... |

Generally with oil hair it's caused by some type of dermititis. Get a good gentle oatmeal shampoo AND conditioner. Conditioning is very important, and especially the oily skin problem. Without conditioning, the oil just comes back quickly. Then as a final rinse, use the BRAGG brand vinegar to rinse.
