I Love Thor Donating Member | I don't know why she wouldn't be eating. I hope by now she has eaten something. I know this isn't what you are looking for, but I bet she just doesn't feel like eating right now and she will eat when she gets really hungry. But watch for hypo-g if she doesn't eat for a really long period of time...I hope some else can give you better advise! Hannah |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | how old is Maisy now? she could be teething and her teeth are hurting her. try soft food, or mixing soft with her regular food. try giving her some nutrical, just so that her blood sugar doesn't get low. good luck, and let us know what happens!

| My Yorkie won't eat... I am so nervous! My yorkie is 3 years old...and is normally a very good eater. We have gotten into a horrible routine lately of giving her a little table food here and there. Now for the past day or two she won't eat her food without me hand feeding her. I have been giving her nutri-cal today, but I'm nervous because she is so small. I have an appointment at the vet in a few days but I am out of town now. Any suggestions? She's also really sleepy....how much nutri-cal should I be giving her...thanx! |

| Sounds right to me yorkies know what taste good and if you handed me a bowl of dog food or a tastie treat off your plate i would be much happier with the table food. I have put beef broth or chicken broth over dry food when picking at a dish. I hope she eats soon. |

| it's a little better... Miko finally came around and started picking at her food...after a few licks of nurtri-cal she perked up...and ate a little food. It was a great sign I was a nervous wreck. I know how dangerous it is for them when they aren't eating. She's also having another problem...after she eats...or while she's playing she has this sort of choking attack...it's almost like water went down the wrong pipe...it's hard to explain, but it's like she can't catch her breath and she breaths rapidly through her nose...has anyone experienced this before? I asked my vet about it once before and they said it was nothing to worry about..but it's kinda scary...overall though she's doing a lot better! Thanks for the advice! |
