| canine teeth remove when neutering? Today my 6 month old puppy is suppose to neuter and also remove 4 canine teeth but after meeting with the vet he told me to go back in 4 weeks because the adult canine teeth just came out a little bit and if he pulls out the canine teeth it might hurt his skin or the adult canine teeth stops to step in. Is this true? I am asking because i called another vet and he said it's ok to pull it out now. Which version is true??? Last edited by kayi078; 01-15-2011 at 09:37 AM. |

| You should not put your puppy under anesthesia twice so close to each other. If the vet thinks you should wait on the teeth you should wait on the neuter also, usually these two things are better if done at the same time, better for the dog and usually better on your wallet. If the teeth are visable at all you should be able to take them out now. |

No, it's not true. Pulling the puppy tooth now will assist the adult tooth in to coming in to the proper position.

| Jackson had the same problem with his canines. He had 4 baby teeth that were pulled out during his neuter and one of the baby teeth did make his adult canine tooth come in a *bit* crooked. I probably waited too long (he was almost 7 months old when neutered).
