| Threw up after eating Blue Bites salmon training treats... Has anyone else had a problem with this product? Ian only ate half of the small square and threw it up almost immediately. He had the salmon one.

| I don't feed anything (dog food) that contains fish meal... processed on the boats with Ethoxyquin.

YT 2000 Club Member | I was feeding my dogs blue canned food a few weeks ago and tucker threw up almost daily within the hour of eating it. It was only a small amount and it was just the canned food. I thought it was because he has a senstive stomach and couldnt tolerate the food, maybe they are having issues agian?? I took my dogs off it and they are back on totw dry and canned, tuck has been fine since.

| I contacted Blue Buff by email regarding this issue. I'll post their reply. As soon as the streets are driveable, I'll return it to PetSmart.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I feed BB food/treats and actually that is the food/treats I went back to after trying The Honest Kitchen, Acana and Nature's Variety. It is the only thing that doesn't give her major diaherra... I do also have problems with Wellness treats as well. I have to be so careful with Taycie, even if the makeup of the food or treat seems somewhat similar to BB. I don't know why, but it works for us and I am sorry you and little Ian have had issues with it. I guess it goes to show what works for some does doesn't work for all I do know they are ethoxyquin free. I was worried about this as well as I did not see it on the food but it is stated on the website Blue Buffalo - Our Nutritious Dog Food and Cat Food Philosophy If you scroll down to the bottom of the link it states what is NOT in Blue.. (it says): Preservatives like BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, propylene glycol provide no nutritional value and have been associated with possible toxic side effects. Some pet food brands resort to artificial colors and flavors in an attempt to make food look and taste better. We don’t. I hope this helps! I am sorry I know how frusting this can be!

| The rules are: 1. If the company does not add the ingredient it does not have to be listed on the label. 2. Any commercial fishing vessel in the U.S. that is catching fish to be supplied to the pet food market has to preserve the fish taken onboard with Ethyoxyquin. Because Blue doesn't add it, they don't have to list it. Ethoxyquin is usually burned off in the food processing cycle, but they do not test for it, nor can they insure that it is completely gone from their product before it is offered for sale. What if someone turns the oven off early for a batch here and there? The only way to be sure you are not feeding it to your dog, is to not feed them anything that contains fish. Ask them who they buy their fish from, and contact that company.

| I don't see anything in the ingredients that would be an obvious problem. I wonder if (1) he could be allergic to something there; (2) it went down too fast and came back up just as quickly?

I've used Blue Buff for over four years with Prince, and since Dec. with Ian and have never had a problem, although Prince never had the Blue Bits and Ian just tried half of one. When we adopted Ian, I started feeding him the Blue Buff kibble with salmon and brown rice because he was having an issue with dry skin. The kibble, although it has salmon in it, never bothered him. I wonder what other kibble is premium with omega 3s?

On my previous post I mentioned that Ian eats the Blue Buff kibble with salmon without any problem. This is so weird.

| This article explains all the issues concerning Ethoyquin: Problems With Artificial Preservatives in Dog Food - Whole Dog Journal Article 'If you are adamant about avoiding any amount of artificial preservative in your dog’s diet, you would be well-advised to switch to a diet that does not contain meat meals. Canned foods and frozen diets are generally made with fresh and frozen animal ingredients, which are not usually treated with preservatives. Of course, feeding your dog a well-planned home-prepared diet made of fresh ingredients is the only way to be absolutely certain of ingredient content and quality.' As Blue Bites does not contain 'salmon meal' that may not be the problem... but glucosamine/chondroitin is made from shellfish and could be too rich for him or he may be allergic to shellfish.

| Lucy has certain treats that will make her vomit. They don't bother Ringo but they do her. I simply removed those treats from her menu and she has had no further problems.

| I feed Daisy Blue Buffalo Basics (the salmon and potato) and use the treats as well....and haven't ever had a problem. I also use the Wellness soft treats with salmon and lamb. I don't have any problems with that product either. |
