| I posted a thread asking about this a while ago. Here you go, hope its useful to you : http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...insurance.html Most said it wasn't worth it because the companies make up excuses why they won't pay for the bill. I think you should look at the thread for yourself, though!

| We have it and I highly recommend it. I have VPI Pet Insurance. The coverage has been great so far. I have the best insurance and it runs about $46 a month. They covered her spaying, her shots, checkup and even a sick visit with little cost to me. Check them out at www.petinsurance.com If you decide to get them, please tell them I (Amy Anderson) referred you. Amy |

| Buster is covered by petplan Pet Insurance for Dogs and Cats - Petplan Pet Health Insurance. They cover alternative treatments and genetic issues. Buster had LP surgery and the covered 70% as he went to a specialist. Usually I pay 20% and they pay 80% after the deductible. You can choose your deductible and your coverage 100% / 90%-10% / 80% - 20%. They were easy to work with and paid promptly. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have PetPlan, and they've never denied a claim for Pfeiffer. I'm really glad I got the insurance....and going forward, I'll always get it. Wylie and Marcel don't have it, and I sure wish I'd gotten it for them when they were pups.

| VPI is the best for what you get. Go for the major health plan. You never know and can not get it after soemthing happens. Pre-exisitng conditions etc. |

| There are sites that rate all the insurance plans. Mine gets good reviews but I've never used it. What you have to watch for are policies that deny claims for breed specific problems. As for price, it all depends on how much you want to pay now against what your copay will be. Just like people insurance. Generally, regular checkups are not covered. |
