| Picky eater We brought Izzy home two weeks and 3 days ago, she is 21/22 weeks old. She was/is eating eukanuba puppy and not eating very well. I purchased some baby chicken food to add to her food and she ate very well. That seemed to give her more energy too (imagine that. So, I did some research and decided to start changing her over to wellness and add chicken soup for the pet lover canned. I put a small portion of the new food with the old food and added some of the canned, she won't touch it. I then tried pouring chicken stock on the new and old and she just drank the stock. Any suggestions? The chicken baby food is way more expensive than the canned food and not sure how healthy it is for her either. I hate to make her wait it out when she is finally eating well. Thank you, |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | First off...how big is she and how much of her original food was she eating a day? Puppies don't have big stomachs....what you thought to be too little may have been enough. I wouldn't feed her baby food or any people food for that matter. They catch on veer quickly to wait for the "good" stuff. Have you tried the canned alone? Or mixed with a small amount of kibble? I'm not much help. My dogs are all free fed and they all eat when they like....including puppies.

| Izzy weighs 3.1 pounds and is 22 weeks. She is only eating about 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of dry a day. Thanks for the link, sounds like this could be intereresting.....tonight tried just the canned and she ate it, so wondering if it's the wellness she's not liking. Sounds like this is going to be a lot of trial and error |

| I hope the link helps you!!! Gizmo is 7 months old and he eats about 1/2 cup on a good day but there are days he eats about half then i'll give him some canned food like Merrik Puppy Plate or Wellness Puppy. Gizmo weights 3.4 pounds so hes not far off from your baby Izzy. So it sounds like she is probably eating enough. I know on Gizmos dry food bag it gives you an estimate of what they should be eating a day for their age/weight. Its just an estimate some dogs will eat anything you put infront of them and others wont. Gizmo is very very picky so i completely understand what you are going through. It seems like a production each day to make sure Gizmo is eating enough. |

I recently switched to a better, premium food and it says to feed less, but mine still like to have their tummies full! Now I'm watching that they don't get fat.... and with the cooler weather they're burning more calories... two of them went and had the 'zoomies' in the snow last week.... too funny... bugged me to death to get out in it and ran around like crazy dogs for ten minutes... they were so wild I had to find my Care Credit Card bc I was sure one was going to slip and break something...
