| Petsmart, Best Food??? Hi y'all, Our yorkiepoo Lucy is in need of a puppy food change. She's 7 months old and isn't eating her food much at all. She'd rather sneak cat food and get in "trouble" than eat her food. It's the same food we brought her home with from the breeder. Diamond brand for small breed puppies. I've been reading all over yorkietalk about food and my head is spinning at all the choices!! We'll be visiting relatives next week and will be close to a PetSmart...What's your opinion of the best puppy food there?? Thank you ahead of time, Jeannie |

| At Petsmart, probably Blue Buffalo, Wellness and Castor & Pollux. Diamond is not a terrible terrible food or anything. I know Diamond Food Plant had some issues a few years back but they seemed to have resolved them and the ingredients aren't that bad. I believe Canidae, Taste of the Wild, and Kirkland is also produced at Diamond.

| Diamond is a poor food. Please take a look at this website. It only got 2 out of 5 stars. Diamond Dry Dog Food | Review and Rating however, if you are feeding Diamond Natural, it got a better four stars. Diamond Naturals Dog Food | Review and Rating Take a look at the 5 star only foods. Five Star Dog Foods If you are visiting relatives and the petsmart is nearby, no doubt there is a Petco nearby too. Petco has far superior quality foods than petsmart. many petco's have redone their food section to have holistic and oragnic foods now. Also check out this thread to get free samples of super premium food. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yorkie-health-diet/76518-super-premium-pet-foods-list-ask-free-samples.html Aviod foods that have meat by products, corn, wheat or soy in them, and especially avoid them if they are in the first five ingredients!

| Hi... I checked Lucy's food bag and it is Diamond Naturals small breed puppy, and the first three ingredients are chicken, chicken meal (?), and ground rice. So...if I find a Petco, what brand of food from there???? I think we'd prefer dry, if that makes a difference and a canned food for special occasions. Thanks, y'all! |

| Ok, Diamond Naturals puppy you stated, pretty good. but if you want to change, Wellness, orijen, blue buffalo, they're all good. also if your dog doesn't like it you can bring it back to petco for an exchange. I feed Honest kitchen and wellness, but some have had problems with eye gunk from wellness. Some like limited ingredients like Dick van Pattens. Some like organic, some like raw, some prefer white fish as a protien instead of chicken, lamb or beef. Uni cna't have lamb, it's too rich for her, she has mild pancreatits. It's really just a try and see how they do. Every dog is different. That's how I found out she can't do lamb, we tried it and it didn't work out for her. Good luck. PS, the food in the general area of where they have the wooden floors in the back is where the higher end stuff is. The food on the sides of the store are the lower quality ones. But check the ingredients!
