I believe the quality changes. People raved about Evo when it wasn't owned by P&G. So I tried it since I had a coupon for a free bag. That was after it had been sold. Which is why people like the other poster (see post below) jumped ship before the company was switched over and the food changed.

From my personal experience, the food was just too high in fat. My boy gained 2 lbs on the Evo, and I fed it for about a month. He has those pesky LP's and any weight gain really makes his knees pop. I switched to Orijen, which he eats (but you know how picky yorkies are ) and he is now finally back down to 7 lbs. I would not recommend that food. However, if your little one is thriving and doesn't have a weight problem, study up a bit more as to what your options are. You may decide not to switch after all. It's better to have a healthy yorkie who is eating, than a stressed out furmom because her baby won't eat.

All i know about Evo is that it's super high in protein. My shih tzu would have problems with weight gain. My yorkie would be fine on it. I feed them Wellness small bites. They are doing great on it. Suzi my yorkie is very active as always and seems to be thriving just as my shih tzu. I give them Bully sticks for treats and they do not have loose stools. however, will chew on them until gone and ignore their food. I try not to give them too many bully sticks for that reason, I want that to have them eat nutrious food.
