| Age Hi- I have been looking at other peoples pictures of puppies. My Aiko is 9 weeks old acording to the breeder, but he still has slick hair and is very long and scrawny. He runs around, and she told me he was the runt of the litter, he seems active and healthy and I will take him to the vet later this week. I'm just concerend since he doesn't look his age. He has AKC paperwork but it is pretty blank just has his parents names and the breeders name. I received his d.o.b. written on a piece of paper. I'm wondering if she lied to me about his age. |

| I would bring your puppy to a vet for a wellness check ASAP. Did the breeder have a contract for you to sign? The AKC papers and birthdate on a scrap of paper sound fishy. Do you have pictures of your pup to post?

| I would visit the vet sooner rather than later. He could be younger or he could actually be 9 weeks. Even if he is 9 weeks old, he is really too young to have been taken from his mom. The recommended minimum age is 12 weeks. Good luck with your new furbaby!
