Pre Spay Well Vet Visit today LP rediagnosed to grade 2 not 3.:D Perfect weight 5.4 lbs. Bloodwork results coming in the morning, hopefully everything is ok. If yes then we are gonna finally do it this week! They will also remove the weird little bump on her head and do a biopsy. Biopsy is $113! The actual removal is $50 though. Also take out her infamous double fang. But for $350 including overnight stay is not bad! Well plus the cost of bloodwork today, so about $450. Still have the softee cone from Bo so saved another $15 there. thank god for Care Credit! Send us your good vibes please, we appreciate it! Also, who is for onesies after surgery and who isn't? Pros and cons please! :) |
Oh and they dropped their office fee from $40 to $32. I love this hospital! |
I will keep her in my prayers for a safe surgery. |
:bananna: This banana is doing a "Good Vibe" dance for you both. As for onsies, I loved them. Although, Cooper seemed to wiggle her way outta them when I wasn't looking, but they worked great for us! |
Sending GOOD vibes for miss Uni!!! :):) Jackson & Brit |
Bloodwork came back perfect. So we're gonna do it tomorrow! I feel so much more at ease doing the bloodwork. Of course it's more money, but you can't really put a price on peace of mind. |
Sending up healing energy and prayers for Miss Uni... Heard nothing but good things about post surgery onesies... |
My Beya had her spaying this morning, I get to pick her up today at 2:00 everything went well with her, I will keep your baby in my prayers. |
Thanks everyone! :) Quote:

Yea, I dropped her off at 6 and she had it done at 11 they called me and told me how it all went and I could pick her up at 2. They said she will need her pain meds and no playing with her toys, :( lite food about 1/2 of what I normally give her, so she dont over eat cause she didnt have any breakfast or lunch yet. |

Mmm, I just called them and no there is not someone there overnight. :( They say I can pick her up at night if I want, but they like to keep spay patients overnight. I'm thinking I will drop her off early (for me!) at 7:30 when they open and pick her up in the evening before they close at 7:30. |

I don't really quite understand why on earth a dog would be better off sleeping at an empty vets office when they could be home... that's never made sense to me! I also made sure to find a vet where I could pick Jackson up the same day and I did the same thing as you... I brought him in right when they opened at 8 and picked him by 4pm. Good luck!! |

I think also with puppies + pain meds they would want to play still, or with households with lots of people, kids, or other animals, I can see why it's be better for them to be at the vet's instead. But Uni's almost 4 and she's not a crazy playful puppy anymore. She'll most likely just be sleeping. btw, I got her a onesie from walmart, it has a turhey on it. so cute! So she won't have to wear the cone 24/7. |
All my love and prayers to Uni for her spay...we'll be thinking of her!! |

Garden Grove Dog & Cat Hospital - Garden Grove, CA Last time we were seen by Dr. Hess, this time it was Dr. Malo. They are both great. Dr. Malo (the younger one) is very friendly and whistles all the time, and cracks jokes. This place was voted best of OC, I forget what year though. they have an enormous English Mastiff there all the time, he's the mascot. Don't worry he's behind the counter and totally a big couch potato. If you need a quick not too serious vet check up or for vax, go here: Golden State Humane Society Animal Care Center - Garden Grove, CA They also do spay and neuter but are not a full service hospital, but are VERY low prices. Office visit fee only $15. So if you got something not so serious I go there. It is a bit more ghetto, like NO one picks up after their dogs outside even tho there are poop stations everywhere. When I go here I carry Uni in. We see Dr. Gallardo. he remembers what you were in there for previously. He is known to suggest surgery a little to quick though. |
Oh yeah wanted to add: one of my customers happened to be an emergency vet. He asked me which hospital I go to and I told him. he said Dr. Malo is very good. There are 2 Malo's. The older one has a very long wait for him, but the younger one is just as good. |
Very happy to hear that Uni's LP is a 2, not a 3, and that she has filled out her figure a little ;);). Also happy to hear that you have a great vet office. Where is the bump on her head and how long has she had it? How big is it? I don't want to discourage you from having the biopsy done, but Max had a bump on top of his head right before he went in to be neutered. The doctor was going to scrape it during the surgery. I put a little olive oil on it and it went away in 3 days, so I canceled the scraping. |
Positive thoughts for Uni ... I am sure all will go well! :) |

It's a hard bump about 3mm in diameter. the vet didn't seem too concerned with it, but we're doing a biopsy on it just to be safe. I'm not telling bf how much the biopsy is. he'd say just cut it out and hope it doesn't grow back! but the bump's been for for about a month or so. hasn't gotten any bigger but it bugs the hell out of me, so it's coming out. |
Thanks again everyone! :) |
