Positive Vibes to Uni!! :)

oh I got my beya home and its just heart breaking she looked so scared and when she saw me she looked at me with thoses eyes that say Hey I know you take me home. I have been holding her this whole time she is so dizzy and I feel so bad for her.

Best to be safe and know for sure that it is nothing.

We are sending good vibes for Uni. Tell her no drunken pirate walks or other tricks for 2 weeks. :):love:

You gotta post a pic of the turkey onesie. And, in case I forgot to tell you earlier, the front of the onesie goes on her back, it gives more room on her belly for the material to sag a little. You don't want anything to rub too much or to accidentally get caught on anything. Please keep us updated!

OK...maybe I am a bit stupid for this one: But, how do they piddle with a onesie on? Do you have to take it off every time they go out?

You pretty much figured it out. They can't piddle with a onesie on, or better yet they can but it gets messy. I explained this to Priscilla over the phone;(at least I hope I did) it works really well with a dog that is on a schedule. When I had Kaji neutered he pottied at 7 am, 10:30-11 am, 2 pm, 6 pm, and last potty at 11 pm. Every time I took him out, I had to remove the onesie. It was a bit of a hassle. I first had to get him all nekked, put his harness on and the leash, grab a poppy bag, and carry him down the steps. Once that was done, it was back up the steps, clean his peeper, take his harness off, and then on came the onesie. All the time in between he was in his ex-pen, or in my arms. I can honestly say I don't remember that time fondly. Kaji and I had a few sleepless nights. But, the onesie really did help. Kaji wouldn't stop messing with his incision, it even got a little red and irritated. On went the onesie, with a little topical ointment that the vet approved, and problem solved. NO more irritation, and Kaji actually enjoyed the onesie. He used them as jammies for a while after the neuter. It's how I got him to sleep those first few weeks.

Well I got her in at 7:30 ish. They said they had a major surgery scheduled for that day, so they weren't positive what time they would schedule her spay. I didn't want to leave and come back another day as I was already mentally prepared to do it (kind of). They will see if it is possible for me to pick her up today anyway.

They had me take off all her thingys, harness, clips, collar, and I totally started crying when I was saying bye to her. :*(

I did the same thing when I dropped Jackson off... I was holding his leash in my hand and harness, etc, and just started crying when I drove away, lol. We are sooo pitiful. Uni will come out perfect, I'm sure. I am sending good vibes your way!

I spoke with a vet tech and she said Uni is just waking up from surgery. :) they said everything went great, BUT since she got done so late in the day, I cannot pick her up tonight, the Dr said no. :( I don't know how I'm gonna sleep tonight.

Yeah! Surgery is over, Uni is awake. My eyes were welling up reading your message about dropping her off this morning. Sorry she can't come home to you tonight. Looking forward to a report tomorrow morning, and pictures of her onesie.

I'm glad to hear surgery went well. I'm sorry you have to be away from your baby overnight. I wouldn't sleep either.

How can anyone not love Uni? So glad all went well... what a relief!

She is doing surprisingly well. Not bothering with the stitches at all. She's sleeping on her bed in her "hammock". Her left ear was extremely matted though. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to get it all out. didn't loose too much hair. Really did take me a while to get her all cleaned up. Two days of her not being fussed over and brushed really caught up with her. The spot where they took out the growth, they shaved a pretty big spot, and the incision looks bigger than the spay incision! It was just a tiny dot! Anyway, she has a lot of ear hair that will cover that up, and once the bright blue stitches are out, I doubt anyone would notice.

I still don't have any pics yet, maybe tonight. lol she's dreaming right now. :)

So we get the biopsy results in a few days. I'm sure it's nothing. thanks again for everyone's well wishes, you guys are the best!

ETA: you know they didn't even shave her arm hair! I guess her hair was thin enough to see thru?

Neither Max nor Teddy had their arms shaved. My neighbor's little girl had it done for the IV. I don't know why some vets do it and others don't.

Katie's arm was shaved, but then again, she was a cotton coat. She has a LOT of hair. Your boys look like silky coats right? Maybe they can just move the hair aside to get the vein?

Can't believe I missed this thread, I was wondering why you didn't have a spay thread. Glad everything went well, and hope she's feeling like her old self ASAP!

Mimi didn't get her arm shaved either, but Momo did...he's got a lot of hair everywhere!

How odd.. Kaji's a super hairy soft coated werewolf. He didn't get shaved either. :confused:

So glad Uni's surgery went fine.

I did not have to take the onesie completely off Tink when she went to the bathroom. I would just unsnap it and fold it back a little over her back. I can see where little boys would need to take it off.

You can kind of see where her bump was removed. They shaved about a quarter size of hair off. they barely had to shave her belly, she is pretty hairless there. See how small the spay incision is? Crazy!

Wow, i have no idea why the picture is so huge when you click on it. Anyone else's do that too?
