| Best stool softener? I just switched my little pack to a corn/chicken/grain free dog food and they love it. But their poopy is getting harder and smaller. I have been giving them tiny pieces of apple. But I am not sure how much to give them or if there is a better way to counteract the side effects of this new food. I would appreciate any words of wisdom you could give. I want to do the right thing the first time and this forum is the only place that I really trust to give me intelligent advice.

| It's supposed to be smaller and harder. Unless they are having to strain to go, I would not do anything. Otherwise use canned pumpkin . Not pie filling, just plain pumpkin. |

| Thank you, JeanieK, for answering my question. I will keep some canned pumpkin in my cupboard for the kids

That's the best part about feeding a grain-free, high quality food.... less poop and it's smaller, less stinky and harder! I'd be happy.

As usual, YT'ers are the best source of reliable, helpful information.

| I agree with the other posts too. Better food=less poop!
