You're not weird. I still say there should be no screaming. They aren't very good IMO if there is.

Well I don't blame you for feeling that way, ours always go to the back.

When I began interning at the vets office and observing, I noticed that happening as well, and like a previous post mentions, it is harder to get from a smaller dog and unfortunately necessary

(I had to ask the vet about it cause it kind of bothered me to watch.)

I have not seen any of the dogs yelp yet.

I would be upset too. We have about 3 techs where we go and I only trust one to cut Kayla's nails. She is terrible!!! Last year we came home from the vets and I had requested her nails be cut and not knowing the regular vet tech that cuts them wasn't there, someone else did them. By the time we got home she could not walk on her back leg. I was scared to death someone dropped her. I called and they said he just cut her nail too short. So, I know how upset I would be if they hurt her while drawing blood. My veins collapse and I have had them dig around in my arm and I know how bad it hurts. Poor baby.

I've had nurses do this to my arm, it hurts but it's more of a strange feeling that makes me cringe thinking about it. I don't understand why they don't just pull the needle out and try again, it would be way less stressful that way...

Well so far for the last 4 yrs , the head nurse ( tech ) always takes all the blood test. , but they do take them to the back.
As far as their shots, the vet does them in front of me and I hold and talked to them the hold time.
After 2 x on me, and I tell them to get either a head nurse or their top tech, no beginner on me.
