| It's a funny thing about how much to feed. I think every dog is different. Mickey eats 1/2 C of Wellness Small Breed or 1/2 C of Acana Grasslands (I rotate). Mickey is just the right weight. Not too skinny and not to fat. Little bit of fat on ribs and spine. He weighs only about 5.5 lbs. Max on the other hand also eats 1/2 C of the foods and is fat. Can't feel his ribs or spine. Max weighs about 8 lbs but he is bigger than Mickey in bone size. It makes no sense. If Petco/Petsmart is where you get food, I have had great success with Wellness Small Breed. I also rotate with Acana Grasslands and sometimes Prairie. The boys love both

| Thanks everyone. I picked up Orijen Puppy today and started mixing a spoonful or so in with her food today. I wanted to supplement with Stella & Chewy's lamb patties, but he was out. So, I'll order some online and try those out as well. |

I saw your other post about breath -- perhaps that has something to do with the old brand you don't like...

| We just started feeding Origen Senior to our 10 year old... Just be sure to go slow... I switched our girl over to Origen, and we tried two days of a 1/6 - 1/4 Origen + rest of old food, and that was fine... but then we upped it to 1/2 Origen + 1/2 old food on the third day and she had a bout of loose stools and grumbly tumbly. We went back to 1/4 and it worked well... and after three more days we tried moving up to 1/2 Origen again and everything was fine. It really is dense food, and takes their systems a bit to get used to, especially if you have not been feeding grain free before the switch. All her watery eyes and allergies have completely gone away... bad side effects from a good brand that went bad... (without me noticing sooner - always have to keep an eye on those ingredient lists!!) She is 7 lbs. and we feed her between 1/4 and 1/2 cup a day, but she is not a couch potato Yorkie - we take her for incredibly long walks with her German Shepherd sister (think 1 - 4 miles a day). Even after these walks, (after a nap or two of course) she still seems to have an enormous amount of energy. She really seems to like the kibble too. They are small, but not so small that she doesn't have to chew. Gotta keep those teeth clean! )Hope it is going well for you!! |

| Cesar is 5 pounds and he gets 1 cup of blue brand kibble every day. He seems to really enjoy it. His coat is shiny, and he poops only once or twice per day. The vet recommended this food to me and he seems to enjoy it so maybe you could give it a try. |
