| Is it a good idea to buy the greenies dental chews to help clean Yuna's teeth? ++ I don't always have time to brush her teeth and I thought getting the dental chews would be good for her. Any thoughts? |

| No, they create choking hazards and intestinal blockage. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-greenies.html There are a few other threads about it as well. I recommend staying away from them. However, I can't really offer another solution other than try to make the time to brush teeth more often.

| I know brushing teeth is not all that fun, but I have yet to find a product that assists in clean teeth. However I've been using Leba III on my Cooper and my vet sees mild improvement. I haven't used it long enough to know if it's worthwhile.

| OK - I know I'm going to get hammered for this - but.......my 4.7 lb yorkie has been having one green each night for the last 4 years. She loves them. I mean she really loves them. She goes nuts when she knows she's getting one. At 5 years old my vet still does not see a need for a teeth cleaning yet. Obviously, I am not going to recommend it because everyone's dog is different - but I know mine chews it pretty good - so I will continue to give it to her. Whatever you decide - you do have to keep on eye on them when they are chewing on it.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Have you every tried Bully Sticks or Flossies? I know alot of people feed those. We like those alot too! Taycie goes crazy for them as well. I always supervise when she gets one. For me I would rather feed those then greenies. She also gets her teeth brushed 2x a day |

| I don't regularly buy greenies, but I will allow Levi to have one occasionally under close supervision. He is only allowed to chew on things (like bully sticks or antlers) when I am supervising him anyway. There is just no substitute for brushing teeth! Wish there was an easy fix. Levi still hates to have his teeth brushed!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | You sound like me! I just bought them some Greenies Lite. The new formula is very flexible, you can almost bend them in half, they are nothing like the old ones. My three Yorksters love 'em. However, I think you get more bang for your buck with a bully stick-my Yorkies can finish a greenie in minutes! |

| Hawkeye loves greenies and bullies too. We usually give him 2-3 greenies a week, and he has bullies everyday whenever he is in the mood. He is just a little over a year old, and has never had a problem with either. Also, his teeth, so far, are healthy and white with no brushing needed. He snarfs a greenie down in about 5 min. The bullies are stinky, and unfortunately, his favorite place to chew them is on my lap when I'm sitting, or on my chest while we are lying down to go to bed at night. He loves a good bully chew right before we go to sleep! |

I just ordered some bully sticks and Himalayan chews from WestBrook on YT, they ate the Himalayan chews in one night and polished off 2 of the bullies the second night...the third one is "hidden, in the open" under the kitchen table! Quote:
The bullies from Westbrook Dog didn't stink-promise! I am placing an order with Call Me Petsitter (Baxter's Mommy) tonight, so I will have tried both | ||
