| Eye Sleep? Fix: Angel Eyes? Need advice Well I finally have noticed that my little Patrón's sleep is just out of control almost. I clean it everyday in the mornings after he gets brushed but still by nighttime he has this horrible sleep and it stinks to be honest. What else can I do to lessen this? I heard Angel Eyes can work somewhat but also I read that you can't use Angel Eyes for an extended period of time (No longer than 9 months??) Thanks! |

| I did use Angel Eyes on Rosie for a few months. It really did improve the eye matter. However, I felt it was just so expensive and stop giving it to her. Instead I just clean around her eyes often. I was purchasing it from a grooming store and they recommended it to me. I was happy with it just didn't want to pay the money.

| Baby or puppy shampoo on a warm cotton ball works well for me to rinse off the morning crusties. Sometimes they get infections if the discharge smells bad I would get it checked out by a vet. That happened with my Maltese Holly and the vet put her on antibiotic eye drops and it cleared up completely. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Ive used angel eyes on and off for 3 years. It has worked wonderful for both my toy poodle and Yorkie mix. I use it for a few weeks then stop and when I notice that they have eye goop agian, I start it again.I dont use the full amount recommended and it still works. Their is a member on here that sells it that I have gotten it from and I have also gotten it from ebay. Its definitly cheaper than some places Ive seen it.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I wanted to try Angel Eyes. I know it has worked wonders for others but I was worried about trying something like that everyday because it is expensive. When I asked my vet about she actually advised against it because the the main ingredient in it is actually a low grade antibiotic. She said its not bad but something like that every day is not great either. So we never ended up buying it. I know there are some natural products for tear stains I wonder if those might work too? |

| He is on a Eukanuba Small breed formula that is chicken based. I honestly can't see anything wrong with his diet and he does not get any human food at all. |

For me I would Not Feed Eukanuba. I think that is your problem. Chicken, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Meal, Ground Whole Grain Sorghum, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Fish Meal, Chicken Flavor, Brewers Rice, Dried Beet Pulp, Dried Egg Product, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Brewers Dried Yeast, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Choline Chloride, Fructooligosaccharides, Minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Carbonate), DL-Methionine, Calcium Carbonate, Vitamins (Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of vitamin B1), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of vitamin B2), Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid), Vitamin E Supplement, Marigold, Beta-Carotene, Rosemary Extract. First off Chicken By Products include head, feet, entrails, lungs, spleen, kidneys, brain, liver, stomach, bones, blood, intestines, and any other part of the carcass not fit for human consumption. Doesn't sound very yummy.. Corn and Wheat are the number one allergy causes in dogs. This could very well be why you have some itchy goobery eyes For some dogs, corn is difficult to digest and can be allergenic. Corn metabolizes in dogs much the same way as sugar metabolizes in people. So, when you feed your dog a corn-based diet, it’s like feeding a child a diet thats main ingredient is corn syrup. The child is likely going to exhibit dramatic energy spurts and crashes, hyperactivity, lack of attention, and is not going to be very healthy overall. The same is true of dogs on a corn-based diet. In addition, corn may inhibit your dog's natural ability to receive seratonin in the brain. Seratonin is an important chemical that reduces stress and anxiety. Recent studies suggest that low seratonin levels can lead to impuslive behavior, aggression and other behavioral problems. Corn can also act as an artificial stool hardener. One of the quickest ways to tell that your dog is sick is the consistency of his or her stools. If the ingredients in your dog's food are falsely making the stools firm, you may delay seeking important medical treatment for your dog. The value of whole grain sorguhm is very similar to corn and is grown as a feed grain for livestock. I would rather feed meat as my number protein source without cheap fillers to make up for the lack of protein in the dog food. Dried Beet Pulp is a controversial filler. Some people have no problem with it. But for me if it causes controversy I would rather not feed it until proven otherwise. Some dogs are actually allergic to chicken! I just changed Taycie's diet to a Turkey based diet because she was having goobery eyes. When I did her eyes got better in less then 24 hours!. Also trying a grain free option might help as well. Dogs have a particular hard time digesting some grains at all. Doing this may also help. Some great foods I would try would be Wellness, Soild Gold. Acana, Go! Now! The Honest Kitchen. Many YT's feed EXCELLENT food here! I would definently try changing the food. I am sure you will be shocked! | |

| My little guy had it pretty bad also. Once I changed from tap water to bottled water - it really did improve. Their diet is also a consideration. Eukaneba is not the best food to be giving your puppy. You may want to research others on YT. Acana and Orijen are the top (although these did not agree with my little guy either) named dog foods. You may want to consider them.

This may work for some, but not all.. I have tried numerous high quality foods, different proteins etc and Not one worked. I have also tried adding coconut oil, weve tried bottle water, cleaning the area everyday, organic apple cider vinegar etc, etc, etc and the only thing that has worked was the angel eyes.. If anyone else has any other solutions PLEASE let me know. Untill then I will continue using the angel eyes on and off like Ive been without any issues for the last 3 years.

| Angel Eyes (Tylosin) can damage or discolor the permanent teeth. It should never be given to a puppy until after all their permanent teeth have come in. |

| My maltipoo had this problem when I first got him, but changing to food and snacks that have zero artificial colors fixed it for the most part. That and having other animals in the house that clean each others eyes. Everyone, cats and dogs, clean each others eyes for them, so everyone's eyes are taken care of. They all have a symbiotic relationship. Buster takes care of Bear and Baxter. Baxter takes care of Bug and Baby. Buffy takes care of Buster and herself.
