| The adventure continues...(raw diet) So the pups have been on Stella and Chewy's raw diets for over a week now. Holy cow bells are they gaining weight. At first I feed them a 1/4 patty extra from what it recommended and now I am feeding them the recommended amount. (I thought they were a little underweight) They love all the flavors (beef, chicken, duck/goose). I feed them before work and after work, and they get a little kibble inbetween. (They are use to being free fed, but they have not really touched it since we started the raw.) I tried mixing their kibble with the raw to transition them but they just ate around it and left the kibble in the bowl. Any who, how are everyone else's pups that started on the raw?

| I've been feeding Jackson Primal Duck for the past 2 weeks but only about 3x a week in the mornings for breakfast. He still gets his Acana kibble mixed with wet for dinner. But he loves it! And his poops are always firmer and less poop when eating the raw. I think he liked S&C's raw better honestly. I heard it's higher in fat, so maybe that's the cause of the weight gain?

| I just started giving Sasha Primal raw once a day. She's been getting it for about a week now and so far so good! I got a sample pack to start with and she had no issues with any of the flavors so I just bought a bag of Beef and a bag of Chicken. I just really hope that she continues to enjoy it. I started out just giving it to her in the morning, but a few nights I got home late and my mom forgot to put 2 nuggets in the fridge so I thawed them out during the day and gave them to her for dinner instead, so basically she just gets 1 1/2 nuggets once a day and 1/8 cup of BB Wilderness kibble for her other meal. I thought about switching her kibble to Acana again, but the store I found that carries it locally is a little bit of a drive from my house and Sasha really enjoys BB Wilderness that I'd hate to switch. I know they just had a re-call but I still feel very confident in their company. |

| When we started raw the dogs actually slimmed down but it was also prey-model and not pre-made. It's possible that the higher fat/protein is causing some weight gain. I would cut out the kibble to see if that helps and if not, reduce their portion sizes. The guidelines are just that - guidelines - and sometimes they don't always work for everyone!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Izzy has been on raw since end of July... We feed Primal Chicken now but we were using Natures Varity chicken, Beef, Bison or lamb ... She LOVES it... We also free feed Orijin which she will just "nibble" on.. (My other little dogs prefer it so that why I leave it out, they are free feeders) but she doesn't eat enought to fill her. So now I just went to feeding 2x's per day the raw because she was waking up in the morning throwing up bile due to her tummy being empty and now she's is doing GREAT.. We also give a few wholesome treats during the day. We tried pray model raw and she just looked at me..lol.. would not touch it.. oh well..

| 3 Yorkies loved raw! I fed my 3 yorkies OMA Pride for about 5 years - I started because my little girl was allergic to a ton of different foods. It was great. I mixed it with vegie and gave healthy treats - mostly little carrots. You do need to add a digestive enzyme and salmon oil. Oma spent a ton of time with me making sure I was feeding them the proper mix. There was much less poop and the dogs were really healthy. She died last year from pancreatitis, and he became very ill and I got another dog who had never eaten raw and it was just easier to switch all their food over to the new dogs diet - but now that things have calmed down I am thinking about switching back. They were really healthy on raw - but it can be complicated. |

| I'm glad someone else mentioned about S&C's putting on weight...My guys really blew up on S&C's...Then I put them on Primal (same amount) and they all lost weight...Because the winter is coming, I'm feeding S&C's, for a while, to plump them up for a little cooler weather...It's funny, but I couldn't seem to give them enough Primal to put on weight, w/o getting rediculous...Nice thing about kidz on raw, is, I've always been able to switch between brands w/o any problems, whatsoever...I have two yorkies and one chorkie, all w/different metabolisms, etc... |
