| Question about vaccines Mabel is 18 weeks and had her final vaccine a week ago. When is it safe for her to go on regular walks with us. I feel like it would be two weeks after the last shot but I forgot to ask my vet - any help would be appreciated - thanks!! |

| You can call the vet and ask him... goes for anything after the appointment. He should be more than willing to talk to you and answer anything you may have forgotten at the office. It's usually 1-2 weeks after the last vaccines. Personally, I'd keep her away from other dogs for a month. And it's best not to let her drink from puddles in the road or sidewalk.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | In England we are told 1 week but I see alot of ameican members here have been advised to wait 2 weeks. Either way I would wait a good couple of weeks before taking the pup outside.

| My vet told me he could go out immediately, but not to any parks or where dogs frequent (Petco, etc.) until 2 weeks after his last vax (truth is, he didn't go to petco till around 7 months old). He said it would be fine for him to go for a short stroll around the back yard, on sidewalks but make sure he doesn't drink from puddles or put his nose where it doesn't belong. Good luck with your Mabel, she is just gorgeous!

| Thanks for all of your advice - I think I'll wait for another week and then keep her away from unknown dogs and puddles, etc. for a while longer. Thanks again! |
