| 8 week old puppy will not eat I need some help !!! I have a 8 week old yorkie puppy that refuses to eat anything. He is going down hill and I just don't know what to do. His teeth were very late coming in and I believe that is what started it, the discomfort of his teeth. I have been forcing nutral cal and water down him through out the day and night. He would nurse well but Mom is drying up and he is starting to loose weight fast. I am trying different can foods, baby food. Please if anyone can I help I would appreciate any advice I can get. |

Do you have the mother or did you get him from a breeder? I would suggest posting this in the sick forum for more responses, but everyone will tell you to get your baby back to the vet!

| I am a hobby breeder for over 15 years and never ever have had this happen. I have the mom and was just at the vet yesterday but I will be taking him back this morning as soon as they open. |

| I unknowingly bought from a puppy mill in July and received a very sick puppy. She also wouldn't eat and the vet had me syringe feed her by mixing her wet food with water and then forcing it down her throat. Unfortunately for my baby she had so much wrong with her that she died within 3 days of arriving but that's the only way I was able to feed her when she wasn't at the vet hospital. |

| well I took him back to the vet again today and 300.00 later they told me the same as yesterday when I spent 225.00. They don't know whats wrong with him. force feed him w/ AD and milk replacer which is what I was already doing. It could be this or it could be that. Where do you draw the line with these vets, they don't know more then I do even with blood work, chem screens and 8 years of schooling. I am so frustrated |

| watch out with the AD ; it's high in fat; i force fed my dog that when she was a puppy and ended up in the hospital with acute pancreatitis. try the milk formulas for now. also dogs love green tripe; you can add some solid gold green tripe to a high quality wet food. good luck

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You may want to post this in the Breeders section (or, I can move it there) - bc the breeders may have some good ideas for you. Also, in the Breeder's section - look at the stickies...there are recipes for sick/fading puppies.
