Stinky breath If teeth are in good shape - what else could be causing a bad, fishy breath in dogs. Can it be the food and/or treats, or is there another underlying problem?

Maybe there is a piece of food stuck between two teeth and it's making an odor.

| How old is your dog? Do you brush it's teeth? Max has stinky breath sometimes - he's a puppy.

The food can make your babies breath and coat stinky. Since we switched to Orijen we have sweet smelling doggies, even the poop is way less offensive smelling...

I have two dogs and both their breath seem to stink lately. Its not their teeth. One dog is 5 yrs old and the other 7 months. I was thinking its the food, but not so sure. Could there be any other health related problems that could be causing this. I have heard of teething!

Teething can casue bad breath but at 5 years and even at 7 months it is not very likely. It could be also a gastrointernal thing but since both have the same it's more than likely the food. To be sure you might want to take them to the vets...
