Original or Complete? Hartz ? The box is gone now , so I don't know which one it was. No more Hartz if it's dangerous. The Frontline didn't work, but I'm realizing that maybe none of them could work if our yard wasn't treated ?

We are going to treat the yard and try K9 advantix the next time. I've read good things about it.

i dont treat my yard and frontline plus works very well for all of my dogs and cats.. however I start treating usually in early April untill the end of Novemeber..since using frontline I havent had any issues with fleas.

make sure you wash all of your pets bedding and vaccum.. all of your cracks, crevices, under all furniture and do it often this will help keep the fleas under control in your house.

I meant any Hartz products in general.

The Dawn...was it Original Dawn or one of their other kinds like Dawn Complete? Anything but Original would have added ingredients that may have a higher likelihood of causin reaction if absorbed through the skin.

You gave her a Dawn bath and used Hartz the same day, right? I'd be more inclined to think the reaction came from the Hartz product. The internet is full of horror stories of dogs getting sick, even dying, from Hartz products.

The blue classic Dawn is what we used.

This is the first time we used a Hartz product on Zoe. We are out of Hartz now.

WE gave Zoe a Dawn bath then an hour later after she was completely dry, we used the Hartz spot on her. I'm thinking that it may have been the Hartz that made her too weak too climb the stairs. She was docile before with the Dawn bath but she went up the stairs easily.

I am definitely not using Hartz again (thx for the help), and I'll reduce her minutes in the bath time with any shampoo from now on..

I would NOT use Dawn again if you suspect it is a problem . Also would not use Vectra. .
Here is a thread where someone had what they believe is a reaction to Vectra. Hartz products have long been suspect in cases of animals being harmed.
